Saturday: Even the beautiful die.

 Photo of the day:

Cause of death was Suicide, they say!

So for today:

I read a tragic story this week.  A beautiful successful lady of 32 committed suicide in a unique way, by sky diving.  She had over 500 jumps with no problems, then after a ‘love’ break up she no longer wanted to live.  She made her  regular jump, and 60 seconds later hit the ground with out deploying her chutes.

After investigations everything in her equipment was in  perfect order, reg chute and emergency chute were in perfect condition. It was obvious she had not tried to pull either cord to open any chute.

WE all knew the famous Robin Williams, I was shocked to hear of his suicide, why would a person who had the world by the tail take his life. We learned later it was a mental disease.

Then there was Cheslie Krist, Miss NC who was crowned Miss USA. Later the headlines read:

Woman who jumped from NYC high-rise identified as Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst

If I am not mistaken Cheslie a beautiful black lady also had  an earned doctorate.

No matter your beauty, education  or success, common folk DO NOT understand when a seemingly super successful individual takes their own life.

It is not too smart to ask but have you ever considered ending this life?  No need to answer,

For years I thought it was normal.  I have thought of it many times.  Never serious enough to do it of course, or some other fool would be here typing. LOL  But in truth I have thought of it. One shot and all problems are gone (that is not taking in consideration the afterlife of course.) ;-)

WE have dear kin and friends who have and are experiencing full blown Alzheimer’s.  I tell Sherry they have it made. They do not have problems; their memory is wiped out. It does bother friends and kin much more than it does them.

I must tell you, it is disheartening, even devastating, when a close friend looks at you and asks, “Now, who are you?”  That blows your mind and makes Alzheimer’s REAL.

Nite Shipslog

PS:

AGAIN THANKS for reading the  Shipslog. I sure do appreciate you folks  who take time to read this stuff.  Some of it serious, some, like my mama said, ‘that’s a story!’  LOL

You covered two very difficult subjects to understand fully. When there is no hope, a subject you mentioned yesterday, people cannot see a way out of their situation. They are vulnerable to all sorts of fears, worries, panics and negative emotions. No one in his right mind has ever taken his own life. It is not a calculated and pre-planned action.

As for Alzheimer's disease it seems to be more kind towards the victims than those left to care for them. As one's mental capacity fades away a little at a time, people die over and over again day after day.

Let us pray for those contemplating suicide and for victims of such terrible terminal diseases.

God bless.

What sobering news, Jack. I was unaware of those two (seemingly) tortured ladies. I think the whole world was stunned about Robin Williams; who suspected what lay behind that smile.
To be honest, taking my own life has never occurred to me. I don't know if it's a belief things will get better ... or, I'm just a big chicken. Dementia and AZ too awful to imagine. ALS, too.

You were quite deep today. Very sobering like Mevely said. I don't know what goes on in the mind of these people. It sure is sad though. I add ALS to the list too of horrible diseases.

Robin Williams suffered from LEW's syndrome, an extension of Parkinson's. He must have been frightened. He didn't know himself anymore, saw his brilliance get destroyed. Losing who you are is the scariest thing of all.

I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. It was something I had been expecting for a few years. Losing my words in my writing scares me more than anything.

Is that a photo of M Monroe?

Life’s struggles can weigh heavier than we realize, even on those who seem to “have it all.” Your story was raw, thoughtful, and deeply human. Pairing suicide with Alzheimer’s really shows both sides of losssudden and slow. Thank you for writing so openly; it truly makes readers feel less alone.

Death comes to all of us sooner or later. I hope to die the natural way, but would never take my own life. I believe we should do all we can to make our life enjoyable and honor all life here on earth. Suicides are prevalent in teen agers today as sad as it is to say. More and more are bullied and can't take living any more. Losing your mind is a slow death to many and that diesease can kill your body too... Eventually their brains quit working at all and all life ends.Prayers for all affected. Ir's definitely heartbreaking.
