Sunday I like a lot of things, somethings I LOVE

 Picture

So, for today:

I like cheese on a banana sandwich.  I enjoy onions in my cornbread and milk. I also like Saltines crumbled in milk. I think I like most pizzas.

I like driving in the USA most, once I cross the Mississippi, headed west. the traffic definitely becomes less hectic..

I just love driving the RV with my sweetheart sitting in the passenger’s seat.

I enjoy fixing things.

Sherry and I spent a couple years traveling to assist churches or seniors in need. I love the smiles on faces when we are able to truly help them, whether it is financial or home repairs..I guess that time has past.

Once while doing a youth camp in Canada I played the magician some nights. One trick was pulling a dollar out of a kids ear. One little Haitian girl kept bugging me to do it for her.

Finally on the last night I called her up front. WE talked and I pulled a silver dollar from her ear and gave it to her. That kid smiled turned her ear towards me and  said so everyone could hear, “NOW find FIVE !”  We HAD A GREAT TIME…

I like entertaining and teaching kids. There is nothing like seeing the light come on with a good story that teaches a truth.

However, One of the biggest smiles I remember was when we were hiking the AT. It had to do with a kid back-packing with his dad. The boy was suffering from a RAW rear end. Miles from any outside help He could not keep the tears back. They had tried to treat it with water which made it worse. Sherry carried ZINK OXIDE OINTMENT in her medic pouch. I gave it to the dad and suggested they go over in the bushes and apply some to the raw areas.

You may or may not know it, but that ointment works immediately.  You never saw a kid smile bigger once he walked a few steps after it was applied. LOL

REMEMBER a SMILE is contagious, and says THANK YOU  in the best of ways…

PS: God is Good, Smile y’all, and live life to the fullest, enjoy it. Do something for someone that creates a smile…

I still remember my first hiking in the mountain when I was in Senior High School in Jakarta around 89's. Maybe some of you were not born yet.Your stories really shine. A beautiful reminder that kindness and smiles go a long way.

I used to enjoy hiking but never did the AT. Ours were short trails in our local parks. I have not traveled like you have either, but did enjoy some wonderful years living in a camper. Thanks for the good memories you shared with us.

Though I like hiking and have hiked a little bit of the trail, I my love is walking.

How curious, I was just 'telling' Victor that this morning's guest preacher spoke on going OUT and DOING for others ... in whatever way we're able.
That little Haitian girl's smile is beautiful!

I love that story - I just asked myself today what I did for Jesus today.
