Today’s picture:
BUT for today:
So,
how long has it been Since you defrosted a refrigerator?
(This looks like mama's first refrigerator, before this we had an ice box)
Since you or hubby used shoe polish and brush to polish shoes?
How long since an ironing day?
How
long has it been since you saw a car pushed to start it?
Did you ever have a Black & white TV?
Do you still take the paper, or read a newspaper?
Did
you ever have an outhouse, or use one?
Did you ever draw water from a well, or carry water from a spring?
All
this came about because today I defrosted our refrig here in the RV, it is NOT
frost free! LOL

This may surprise you, but I live in a 6th floor apartment and I have a refrigerator that is not frost free! LOL! Yes, when I purchased it 8 years ago I didn't have a lot of money to spend for a fridge, so I got this one.
To be honest, it is easier to defrost than the older models from my childhood. Which really makes me happy!
Okay, I have done all of these - maybe not the well - everything else I have used. lol
Gosh, I hope I never have to defrost a fridge ever again! My mother used to put pans of boiling water inside, but when grown(?) I preferred using my hand-held blow dryer. (Not gonna mention the time I used an ice pick on the office freezer and accidentally compromised one of the lines.)
So many great memories of "real" newspapers!
Today's post takes me back in time, I have defrosted a fridge and tt he last time is when I owned a camper. We are so spoiled with today's conveniences that don't realize that we had to go outside to get to the toilet. The only time I ever used one was when visiting my grandparents farm as a child. They also had to go out to the well there and draw a bucket of water. I learned to be thankful for what I had at home.
Used to defrost the freezer many times when we first got married.
I haven't ironed regularly since Ken retired. Used to iron his shirts.
Never had to use an out house and never draw water from a well.
Had a black and white tv when we first got married too. First color one was in 1974.
Your Uncle Ralph and the others are so interesting, you could use them as characters in a book. I can relate to all of that stuff. I have a small under-counter refrigerator on my patio that I have to defrost every year.
