From the past:
"Computers? They were BIG, Andy," to quote Barney Fife.

For today:
Every blogger knows that blogging as this is, is
becoming a thing of the past. Many years ago, mine and your blogs were viewed or
opened over a 500 times a day (at times thousands). Back in 2021 the Shipslog was opened viewed over
100 times a day. Now it is unusual to be over 50 times.
In this war of electronics, I was in on the ground floor. At a time when a decision was made, more possibilities out there, we MUST leave the IBM CARD (at the time the CARD was the biggest mass used business tool in the world) I handled multi-millions of those cards..
MOST pay checks, timecards, bonds, IRS and military intelligence were on IBM cards. Yes, even voting was done by IBM Cards, YOU might remember the big case in Florida, challenging the vote, "DUE TO HANGING CHADS" (an incomplete card punch).
I was trained and repaired the first Analog
computers. There was a race between the Analog and Digital computers. The
digital won out, so then I was trained in repairing the Digital computers. GIANT
MONSTERS. The computer I last repaired occupied about a 1200 sqft room. Now if
you have a digital watch it will do more than that old monster.
Remember the race between the cassette and the
8-tract. the cassette won. 8-track investors lost money Etc.
Due to my hearing, I became very involved in the
e-mail and texting methods, If you use e-mails you know their use has been diminished due to SPAM. I still get 70-100 emails
daily and slowly waste my time to delete all but 2 or 3, I mean it, only 2 or 3
are personal to me.
For me, now texting works better than verbal
communications. Sooo I am saying, ,,,,, asking…
There will always be that NEW thing. I know about Facebook, Sherry scans that
daily and seldom comments.
Yes the end of Blogging is in sight, I think most of us know that. Is there a personal media carrier(?) still going good on the internet. You see I do not really know what, AOL, Internet Explorer, Browser, Server, etc.. are, not really! I feel pretty stupid since the artificial intelligence thing came around and I am very much backwoodsie, if that is a word. I hated to see AOL Journals bite the dust, that is when I switched to Blogger. Now sadly I see the WRITING ON THE WALL, I CANNOT interpret it yet,,,,,, Where is Daniel when you need him? Victor?

PS
Always
Good to see you. We look forward to seeing you and you do make our Day, THANKS! Of course, this blog will disappear, and I will miss you. Maybe there will be another media for us
artifacts.

Say it's not so, Jack! I did not begin blogging until '08 and, in fact, am still largely ignorant of new technologies. My first choice of communication is e-mail ... mostly because my handwriting's begun to deteriorate.
Until we're forced to change, I'm gonna make loike the ostrich and bury my head in the sand.
I sure hope blogging doesn't end. I would surely miss it. It has become so much a part of my life.
I remember when computers took up a whole rooms!!
I doubt that e-mails will vanish, says Daniel, reading the writing on the wall. This is because e-mails are easier and quicker than writing on walls and then posting them through the old fashioned Post Office. E-mails are free and provided by Internet suppliers as part of a package of services. The worlds communication systems would stop without e-mails.
As for Blogging, it may diminish perhaps if people give up writing or visiting various blogs; but I suspect there will always be a replacement. This is because since the beginning of time man, (and woman), have felt the desire to write on walls in prehistoric caves all the way to today. A blog, is your personal wall on which to write.
Have you tried this replacement?

Not a blog as such, but a way to express yourself and for others to comment. I use it to promote my Blog and attract new visitors.
God bless.
i'm hoping blogger doesn't stop, I enjoy it way too much AND i would hate to loose touch with the friends I've made. I haven't paid any attention to views, but I know a lot of people only use Facebook now. i like it to keep in touch with Family only.
I know, I know Jack. I am lazy about posting. I need to make myself do it. My g.kids may look it all up one day. I have gotten on facebook. Do not fully understand it or even want too. Mean people lurk to see who they can slam at times. It seems like endless ads also. Who the blinky blink cares about so much of that stuff , especially politics. Boy do we ever need a third party.
I pray for all of us. I think too many have forgotten who the Big Boss is in the whole universe. Just trying to be the woman God wants me to be. Blessings to all there. Stay warm , hold your sweetheart tight. Love xoxo, Susie
