A food that helps ‘Your Senior’ moments!

For today,the day before Sunday:
I read the title on one of my ‘news’ headlines. MY first thought was, “It must be Butter Pecan Ice Cream!”
So I asked Miss Google, “What day is it?”
Immediately I hear, “What day would you like for it to be?”
“Well I thought it was Sunday, and I would go down and hear Bro Lacey. He is the RV chaplain here.”
“Well it can be Sunday, but I will have to get to the preacher and tell him.”
“Okay what day would you suggest?” I asked.
“Saturday is as good as any, how about that?”
“BUT, but I already used that one.”
“I suggest you  take a nap and you can wake up later in the day Saturday, BTW you didn’t tell Evelyn you had used that day did you?”
“Well yeah, but not real loud!”
Then Miss Google made a swallowing noise and said, “Then you are probably in trouble. But I will do my best at changing her calendar. Just stick to your guns, today is the day before Sunday. In the mean time, do like Don..... take another nap.
Y’all keep in mind in this world that are some people who are getting old, y’all just try to be one of ‘em.  Even when you must ask Miss Google what day it is.  I have learned Today is always the day before tomorrow. And I am eating a gallon of Butter Pecan Ice Cream!

That Susan Kane and Myra

 Autos of beauty
            1937 Chrysler Town Car.

For today (Saturday I hope):
There is something special about a question type post. At times Myra and Susan pose questions, and answer them.  I love reading their answers. When I read some answers... “I WISH I HAD SAID that!”

Lately in Susan’s questions:
Are you an introvert or an extrovert? That got me to thinking. Most of my life I was an EXTROVERT.  I actually pastored a church or two. We even organized and built a church. Sherry and I entertained kids from Cuba to Canada at BSA & church functions and Summer Camps. I loved it. I would speak to anyone on the street, bus, ship or plane. And then I lost my hearing. I slowly became an Ex-extrovert. Sherry orders at restaurants for me. She must accompany me to check in at an RV park. She answers the phones.

While walking here, both of us laughed at ME as we passed “Lot 39”. At a checkin years ago, I was TOLD (I thought) Park in  #39. At 39 the sewer was clogged with sand. I started cleaning it. I was arm deep in the sewer line when Sherry said, “I believe I heard Lot 139.” Sure enough, on 139 everything worked.

When you are once an Extrovert it is hard to keep it down, and at times make a ‘fool’ of yourself. I give ‘gold dollars’ away to kids. Most of the time (after getting permission) I will show children a sleight of hand trick, make the coin disappear  then find it in their ear, or shoe.

It is really good for a kid that is obviously having a bad day or just tired.  It works like a charm in line at the grocery store. BUT at times it starts a conversation and I must bow out. I MISS being the extrovert.

I shouldn't tell you about the doctor's visit. But Sherry went into his office with me, thank goodness (she normally does not do that). The Doctor came in and talked with me and walked out. I loosened my belt and let my pants drop to the floor.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” Says my girl loudly.
“He said drop your pants!” I said in explanation.
“HE DID NOT, he is sending the nurse in, put your pants back on.”
I did, just in time. Yep, I am an ex-extrovert and live dangerously because of my hearing.
 (Quit laughing Evelyn!)

Psychic or confused?

Autos of beauty
 The 1937 Ford House-Car
This RV was built the year Evelyn was born.
In Florida Evelyn lives in a Tropical Motor home.
For now Might be Friday?:

Many times Sherry & I live-in cities, travel the same roads and see the same places of the Rich & Famous. We visit the same cities and landmarks but not frequent the same hotels and restaurants, as the elite. I labor under a lot of stress and deadlines with this world famous blog. (World famous? Yep, it was read once by someone in Germany and also Athens Greece)

So I know how Trump and a few of the Royal Family feels, always being picked on. We famous folk are like that. It takes thick skin to live and run in the fast lane. Just for an example. I get e-mails from Parliament, Congress and a Prince in Kenya. They ask advice and at times need money. VERY SELDOM, but every once in a while, someone will give advice, or need further explanation.

For example, I received this e-mail from my Number ONE internationally known fan(?):

Sir Jack ...
I think you may be a little (or maybe a lot) confused.
On Monday December 30 you posted that you and Sherry had a nice  quiet New Years. Well, how did you know two days in advance how your New Years was?
I love harassing you.  It keeps me out of trouble!  Could not do without you and Sherry!
Evelyn

(Notice she learned well in school to soften a criticism in the last paragraph.)

Life is tough in the fast lane. I wanted Evelyn to know that in Florida, New Year’s EVE is on the 29th. If she hadn’t been so tied up with GREAT GRANDDAUGHTERS she would have been in Florida and ‘KNOWED” that.

I have noticed that a few great grand-parents are so SILLY!

Don finally dragged her away from NC and they are in Florida, maybe the sun will warm her ‘knowing’ processes some. Don tells me at times she is hard-headed, (I think that is the way he ‘splained it.) But she is still 'Purty! and I love her to pieces!  ;-)

Besides it all, Me 'n Don are Psychic!, we 'KNOW THANGS!'

We moved.

  Autos of beauty
 1970s Plymouth Hemi Superbird

For Thursday (I think)    (:
We are closer to  lil' Mickey Disney so we should have a better signal. Even with bad reception and signals at the last park were steady enough that I kept up; even got ahead a day or two Sherry said. LOL

WE pulled into the this park 15 mins early and were actually turned away. WE circled out a mile or two and came back and were 21st in line. The line was over 1/2 mile long. It makes life better when you are not in a HURRY. We just waited in line an hour and talked to other campers.

As you would imagine things are crowded near Orlando. Mr. Disney World woke up a giant in the entertainment area attracting many more ‘Destination’ entertainment entities. I cannot name them all, but methinks Disney and Universal Studios are the largest. Once on Sherry’s Birthday the boys came down and took her to “The Holy Land Experience.”  That is very interesting to those who enjoy Biblical history.  We all enjoyed that one.

For you that have heard or 'enjoyed' it, some of these places can be EXPENSIVE! There are ‘Bargain Ticket Sales’ all over the place. I have no idea how solid they are. LOL

I’m smiling, we brought the boys here in ’73 and the price was right at $4 general admission. Adjusted for inflation that would be about $23 to day. At the gate now it is close to $150 per day per adult, one park. Park hopping ticket about $250.  Now imagine a family of 4 for a week?  OUCH.

Back then Motels were $6-8 a day. Camping spots even  less. We generally camped. ;-).

We have never been to Universal Studios. At times some of the family drops by our MH for a few days to play tourist, but that is not often.

We like the area for the weather. Hope your New Year is great. We enjoyed a traditional New Year’s day meal…
