The Future, confusing at best

That Car:

                    Confused cars

For today:

No human knows the future. Of course God does and unless he lets us in on the secret, we will remain out of the loop. I have known some who called themselves prophets; told excitedly of future events, but they did not happen. I also know there are prophecies in Scripture, they are NOT as plain as the nose on your face, so they are interpreted by men, MOST honest and true I am sure, but some hypothesizing.

This world has many beliefs and denominations.  We have that because there are scriptural prophecies interpreted by good men, again, they are honestly given, but different. WHO is correct?

HE knows.  HE also understands us humans; that says a lot, because we do not! He gave us a brain and free choice. Man can think he knows what GOD means in those shady areas, BUT GOD KNOWS. NOW there are true Prophets, it is up to us to see if they agree with our conscience and if they B true..

I started this diatribe (maybe not a diatribe) but verbiage about life’s future.  WE all know there are genetic features that follow a family. At times it is height, eyes, hair, nose and it seems at times, attitudes!

Sherry’s family has solid history of cancer. My family has heart and mental problems. The longer living members of my family developed Alzheimer’s or dementia. I am not a prophet, but a logical person.  Most likely I will become demented. When?  HE knows.

I don’t dread that part of life, but I do dread the transition. I watched my dear sister, she would forget the location of a favorite restaurant. She could not remember her way home once, and would say, “I’m losing my memory and it worries me to death.”

Mama would say things I knew were wrong, (she DID NOT KNOW) and it was very hard not to correct her. Correcting the demented irritates or confuses them more.

My family laughs at me, but I know something they do not know………….  After all I am very smart! Imma remember to know things. LOL

Dental Bridge

 Memorable Automobiles from The Past:

At this time of my blog, I scan thru hundreds of car pics until one talks to me (?) This one brings back a bad memory the first death that shocked me, a 17 yr old cousin lost his life in a single car wreck in one of these, I was probably 10.

For today:

I think I heard one of my sons say today, at your age I would not be getting a Bridge. Of course I have refused some dental work because of my age. When the lady in NC said I needed 100s of dollars of 'cosmetic' work done on my mouth I told her I was too old for that and my family would appreciate the money when I was gone.  LOL

I have thought of that statement lately. I have noticed we do not appreciate things as much if we did not work for them.  That is NOT always correct, but in many cases it is.

I also get the idea I have lived too long, even though I am still pretty self-sufficient. I solved a couple major problems on the motor home after parking here.

I have one more battle. I have got to replace the shower valves here, and I dread it. ;-),  not really, it keeps ,e busy.

Heading off for bridge work, report later. This bridge work stuff is wearing me out.

BTW our contractor did show up and spread the crushed concrete to complete his contract.  The concrete slab is good and very professional. However son Mark, who knows concrete and construction, told the crew they needed to do some back fill and take the forms with them.  If he had not did that, I would have been much less satisfied.

I thought I had posted this, since I have not This is an UPDATE: (A dry socket is why I was enjoying things so much!)

Just back, Dentist said pain was dry-socket. I am not sure but I think he thought I was on some anti-biotic. He might have asked me if I wanted pain meds or not. I do not remember or know. LOL

Anyway he sure enjoyed treating the dry socket, methinks. So no impression was made, and I am rescheduled for 2 weeks. I hate for this to end, it is so much fun. LOL

 Auto Pilot or self driving

Today’s self driving automobile:

Just cruising on auto pilot....

 Some thoughts for today:

I‘m really not begging sympathy. Yes, I have been down (but not out) lately but not in complete dispirit.  I feel like I am on ‘auto-pilot’.  Something like one feels when losing a very close loved one to death. I know what it is like to lose the best parents & siblings. I cannot even imagine the feelings of a classmate of Sherry’s, who lost his wife a few years ago. He was lost. Then he found love again, now just a few years later, he is dispirited because this last love no longer knows him.  She is now in a ‘lock down’ Alzheimer unit’. His and her doctors asked him not to visit her, he is too despondent and they are afraid his despondency will upset her more.

I only use those, as examples of autopilot. Our sons came over Sunday bringing dinner, it was a good visit.  I know it was meant to boost spirits. It did of course, because it was good to see them. BUT I still felt like I was simply going thru the motions of life.

Car on auto pilot....

Please accept this verbiage for what it is, just chatter. I do not expect to remain in this state, and the blog is sort of an outlet. My jaw still aches constantly, NOT PAIN, just an ache. I am due to see the dentist Thursday. It is an appt to make a mold for the bridge, but I don’t think it is ready yet. I will let him decide or course. ‘Cause I know my Dr. says to me, “YOU ARE NO DOC-TR!”  So I am sure this one will say “YOU ARE NO DENTIST!”

I will try to do better next time, but I ain’t promising nothing…….    ;-)

Hey, I just thought, one of those 'auto pilot' cars went crazy in Arizona. just  sayin'

After the rain

Memorable Automobiles from The Past:

Wonder if a man was inside steering?

For today:

What little I have been outside, I did not get the feeling I did as a kid after a rain. The fresh smell I relished back then is not here.  There is only the relief to see the sun and know (hope) it will last until our next move. BUT the little lake out front remains.

It remains to remind me of ‘little Jackie’ when I couldn’t wait to jump in a ditch full of water and dream it was a big river.  With North Carolina red mud (clay) you could make what my sister called ‘frog houses’.  You put one hand on the ground then with the other covered it with the soft red mud. Let it set for a minute and carefully remove you hand and you had a ‘frog house.’

Sister Shirley was enough tom boy she liked to play in the mud also. She liked to make circles and other shapes, smooth the mud and draw pictures or write, she called them ‘plaques’, referring to the ones hanging inside our house. Ones that said: ‘Jesus Lives Here’ and ‘Home is where the Heart is’.

WE were fortunate mama had a hose, before we stripped and went inside.

‘After the rain is still nice,’ just to see the sun.  BUT I know that carefree, no problems excitements of my childhood will never be relived. HE allows us one trip on this earth, fortunately at 83 years old I have enjoyed more time than anyone in my family.

AT present I do not feel great, but I am still thankful, LIFE is good.

No leaks, good words

 Memorable Automobiles from The Past:

WE just about feel like the RV park is like this:

For today:

We have had close to 6 inches of rain in the past couple days.

That road lake was 4 times as large just after the last rain.

Further messing with our minds about our driveway to the new concrete parking slab. The young man who we contracted to do the job is good at what he does. BUT he needs to learn something.  The key word in success in ANY service business is ‘communications.’

If a commitment, time and day is impossible to keep, the customer NEEDS to know.  Evidently some contractors think “Surely they will know I would be there if I could.” But the customer does not KNOW that, but a text or call would save a lot of consternation. With today’s text ability it is easier than ever. You notify but do not have to hang on a phone to EXPLAIN in depth.

Other words are a comfort. In a house, trailer or RV after a monsoon rain you hear the words, “NO LEAKS”, IS A GREAT COMFORT.  LOL

RV’ers  come up with ways to haul ‘their stuff’.  We smile seeing a 40’ coach with a 35’ closed in trailer that houses car, golf cart and other stuff.

Some cannot afford that, and come up with this:

That is parked across the street. Sherry says the big aluminum box houses their motorized bikes.

Contemplating

 Memorable Automobiles from The Past:

Sometimes an old truck will help you think!

For today:

…..to think profoundly (intensely) and at length; meditate:……. i.e. "he sat morosely contemplating that last decision!"   -----------------

There are times when you are not in ‘top shape’ you wish you could just “BE at the ‘perfect’ place to just look over your past, and think of the future. Then you could try to learn your own inner most desires for yourself. Since no man is an island, we must contemplate how our desires affect and effect those close to us.

How did you handle your children’s teen age problems?

Sherry & I walked and talked.  We still do that today, well that is ‘did/and will’ once I get out of the doldrums. Back home I use the little woodsy wild area or the basement, to just think. BUT just now on my ‘screen saver’ a picture caught my eye. This was taken in Idaho:

I remember seeing this guy (barely visible light shirt, center) sitting in an ideal place to ponder, contemplate.  Rough tough landscape, but a beautiful alcove. Does that look like a great place to be alone with your thoughts, your God; ideal for contemplating LIFE!  Maybe knowing yourself, if that is possible.

Thinking……. Be careful, it is Good and bad for you.  LOL

Truth is…..

 Memorable Automobiles from The Past:

Folks would not be surprised to know I like junk cars too!

For today:

I have NEVER appreciated the over the counter pain meds: Aspirin, Vitamin I, etc.  Mostly I have had a high pain tolerance and as long as it was a day or two, I normally took nothing; and when I did I never noticed any help.

We learned that term ‘vitamin I’ on the Appalachian Trail. Hikers would take Ibuprofen fairly regularly and it became vitamin I.

Once Sherry’s heels hurt so bad we stopped and made camp and stayed 2-3 days until we had to move.  During that time a couple walked by and gave Sherry a couple 800mg of ‘Vitamin I.’  She sure appreciated it.  This girl keeps me going She is also my 'Vitamin S'.

Anyway I have now learned that over a period of time those over the counter meds DO WORK. ;-)

It is always good to learn something, even for thick headed people.  LOL

That line

 Today’s automobile:

Shot of TR4 Used in Moonlghting

BMW DAvid and Maddie drove

 Some thoughts for today:

Awhile back I mentioned a serious line from a well known book.  I guess lots of movies and books have that oneline, I think we all know this line, “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a d-mn!”

And “Go ahead, Make my day!”

I was telling Sherry the only line I remember of Bruce Willis.  It was from ‘Moonlighting.’  David had made an excuse to Maddie that he could not be someplace she needed him because a friend had a problem with his liver. I need to be there for the operation.

The next day She asked him how his friend was, the one with the liver problem.

The great character actor he was ;-) he said, “Oh he is fine. It was bad, they just took it out.”

“WHAT? He cannot live without a liver!”

As only he could, with the facial expressions, “He proceeded to tell her the surgeon had worked things out and his buddy didn’t need his liver anymore!”

He knew he was caught in a lie. You know, forging forward anyway, digging himself in deeper. You had to see it, but it cracked me up.  Of all the good stuff he did over the years, I NEVER forgot that silly back & forth!
