Tell me Why

Animals and cars:

I always wanted to change places with my dog, Why NOT?

For today:

I tried to sing to my sweetheart once or twice when we dated. I did this one, I remember only these words, I have no idea who sang it: "Tell Me Why!"

Tell me why the stars do shine.
Tell me why the ivy twines.
Tell me why the sky’s so blue.
And I will tell you just why I love you.

Why this?  I thought of it when I received the following questions from Cousin Howard Dewey D out in Nevada:

Why do banks leave vault doors open and then chain the pens to the counters?

Why do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in our driveways and put our useless junk in the garage?

EVER WONDER... Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?

Why can't women put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavoring, and dish washing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why isn't there mouse-flavoured cat food?

Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

I Now that you've smiled at least once, it's your turn to spread the stupidity and send this to someone you want to bring a smile to (maybe even a chuckle).

I received this from a cousin in LOST Vegas.  He has lived there a few years now and hasn't won enough money to leave town yet!  He said you all should read this, so I sent it to Bloggersville.

We all need to smile every once in a while......

PS: Yep I know they are old, and I am not asking you to forward anything. I normally don’t, but thought it would work for an entry.

WHY I LOVE YOU
Words by Fred Mower, music by Roy L. Burtch.
Indianapolis: Wulschner Music Co., ©1902.

1. There's one who is far away.
Cruel fate keeps us apart,
Whom I love by night and day.
She's the idol of my heart.
In my dreams I see her loving face.
That dear face comes to me like a spell,
Full of beauty and so full of grace,
The one I love so well.

CHORUS: Tell me why the stars to shine.
Tell me why the ivy climbs.
Tell me why the sky's so blue,
Then I will tell why I love you.

2. Soon I'll be with her again.
From her lips I steal a kiss.
No more parting; no more pain.
Oh, what rapture! Oh, what bliss!
Pressing her unto my own true heart,
Whisper to her words of cheer,
That no more from her I'll have to part,
From her I love so dear.

We all need to smile more and I appreciate your efforts to make us do so. I'm smiling and had to laugh at a couple of those that I hadn't heard in years. When My kids were little I used to get tired of them asking why all the time and I'd simply say, because I'm the Mom, that's why.

These still have the power to make me smile. Don't we all need more cheer in our lives these days?
Wishing you and Sherry a wonder-full day!

Oh my goodness Jack - those are some great WHYS? I wonder them myself!

Hey, I will be off internet services for about a week because of the move. I will be back! ☺

My Jack sang to me at our wedding along with his fraternity brothers. It was a tradition that they did it at frat brother weddings. It was a nice song but heck if I can remember what it was! I'll have to ask him if he remembers and then maybe he can sing it next year at our 50th wedding anniversary! Those questions were a riot. A few I heard before but many were new and I just might have to steal them. Have a good day Jack and give Sherry a nice hug from us here in Ohio!

Your blog made me smile. It will make ya think.

Why do we drive on a parkway but park on a driveway? And why do pajamas have pockets?
