Now for today:
I was born just about 10-15 miles west of here in the South part of the town of Gastonia, NC. The seventh child (5 of us survived) of an humble preacher and his wonderful wife. From there Dad moved us to Shelby, High Shoals, Burlington, Albemarle, Valdese and finally to a parsonage in Belmont where Sherry was waiting on me. LOL
So I never experienced having a 'hometown'. I guess that put the 'wild goose blood in me.'
As my part, if I could ever settle, it would not have to be in any particular place. That said, since my girl knows MANY families here and this is her 'place of comfort'; so I guess WHEN WE SETTLE down, it will be here. Will it be this house? Who the heck knows. The last THREE that I built for us, have, at the time, been the LAST ONE! LOL
This home landing was one of the best. Our sons were here to help move everything back into the house. Jack Jr also had a meal for us. He made sure mama stayed off that knee also.
BTW Sherry just told me her legs felt much better today. ;-). And they are still the prettiest legs I ever saw! And I never saw above her ankles until we were married. And like every other boy with his sweetheart, I sure tried!! LOL
I hope to clean this coach up and put a FOR SALE sign on it. NO, I am not giving up, (I don't think.) Unless I have a big change of mind, I want one more. LOL Sorry, my heart still wants to go where the wild goose goes, in my last years.

PS: Thank you so much for your comments and thoughts. I am feeling pretty good. And really, I think Sherry's knee is improving. She will see her Dr. this coming Monday. Hopefully something can be done to level her blood pressure down, it is like a YOYO, up and down.

So glad you made it back home safe and sound. Glad Sherry will see her doctor on Monday and get things checked out. Like you, our boys never really had a "home town", because we were in the ministry and we also moved a lot. I think we all considered my parents' home in Tavares, FL. our home because that was the most stable place for us to go back to. Now that home is gone to strangers and we can't go there anymore. I wished someone in the family could've kept it, but none of my siblings (or us) were in a position to buy it at the time. Now I don't even like to go by there because my Mama and Daddy aren't there anymore, and it just isn't the same. I hope you are able to sell your current motor home, if that is what you want to do, but I hear in your voice that you aren't quite ready yet to "settle down". Sounds like Belmont is the best place for you all with your family close by to help out. That's why we are here in Interlachen, where our oldest son and his wife are. Our other son stays in Jacksonville where he works, but comes home often to visit and do laundry. LOL. Our middle son passed away from cancer in 2014, and his wife and our only grandson live in Maine, so we rarely ever see them, which is sad, but they don't seem to have much interest in us anymore, which is even more sad. Anyway, I say, put down roots close the ones that care about you, and travel when you can, but come back "home" when necessary!
Sounds like you will be buying a newer coach in the future. For now you have a lovely home with family around and that 's nice when both of you have been having health issues. Take care and enjoy where ever you are!
Glad you got home safe and sounds, and the boys were there to help you. Does Sheri need a knee replacement? I also hope they can figure out her blood pressure!
