Moving Day, we are on the road leaving Sherry’s Baby brother at the mercy of the Doctors and Nurses. To recap: When we came up the Doctors did not give Johnny much hope. Now today, nearly two months later, he is sitting up, breathing, eating and talking on his own. He still has a ways to go, but thank all of you for the thousands of prayers that have ascended on John’s behalf. He did not want his little sister to leave, but she promised to return if he really needed her. She promised BIG TIME, to come back to pack him up and move him south. He actually is leaning that way, the family south will love that, everyone loves Johnny.
(Colette, Lennie, Johnny, Elmer & Sherry)
We are having a good trip; we both love to hit the road. I always look over at Sherry and say I am the most blessed man in the world and yes, life is good.
Well she let me loose on the computer while she was there without supervision. She should know better. I found a fixer upper to buy and work on. I never got around to making an offer. I spied a house near where Mark lived and close to Shirl, I made an offer and they accepted, so we are on our way to a home we have never seen before, except in pictures.
(I Keep telling Sherry, With just a little work, this will be great!)
We are above Knoxville for the night. Started off in a cold rain, somewhere in Ohio I turned off the wipers, Somewhere in KY I lowered the front shade to block the sun. By the time we reached Tennessee it was warming up. Here above Knoxville in Raccoon Valley, we finally are in shirt sleeve weather.
(My mistake, this is the one we got, built in 1955)
Good roads, good ride and great company. Hahahahaha
(Just a picture of one of the large businesses in Tennessee!(It will pay to run your car o this))
Thanks for coming by the Log!

PS:
CONFUCIUS DID NOT SAY...
Squirrel who runs up woman's leg will not find nuts.
Man who leaps off cliff jumps to conclusion.
Man who runs in front of car gets tired, man who runs behind car gets Exhausted.
In Arkansas we stayed at “Frog Suck” state park. Now in Kentucky we passed “Hard Bone Lick” State park.

Folks I just report them.

So happy for you two. Johnny is on his way to good recovery, prayers answered, and you two are on your way ' home.' Your new place looks cute as a button, and a yard with flowerbeds, oh Sherry is going to be in heaven. And, of course, you won't mind trimming a bit of grass. Sure looks cozy.
As always, I love the family pictures. Sherry, you sure are a pretty one and have not changed.
How sweet is that!
Who comes up with the names of those parks...sounds ozark to me, meant in a funnin' way.
Have a great time fixin' up what don't appear to need it.

I do hope John moves south to be with you all! I know it will be a blessing for all! How fun to go into that house adventure not even knowing what it looks like! what a challenge indeed! safe travels you two!!!
betty
It must have been great to get to Spring finally there in Tennessee. Believe it or not a warm front will be here and by tomorrow it'll be 80 degrees. It's going to be a heat wave for us that have been so cold for so long. It won't last but still it'll be wonderful to have for a day. Enjoy the trip and take good care!
This has been a long stretch for the two of you ~ staying with Johnny. I'm sure he has said it over and over how much he appreciated your sitting with him through this chapter of his life. I hope he takes you up on that offer of helping him move south. I know you'll be in your happy spot now ... fixing up the house! Did you seriously buy it without Sherry's knowledge of it? That was pretty gutsy on your part if you did. Slim did that to me once ~ bought a house without my knowing ... it didn't go over too well; but we lived there for 8 years ... and it was the Queen Of Fixer Uppers!! It had long underwear and old shirts stuffed in the walls for insulation ... and all kinds of surprises when we started fixing it.
You two are amazing, wonderful people ~ and full of surprises - buying a house unseen! Love it! Prayers continue for Johnny. And the name of those state parks reminded me of a bar up in Alaska called 'Slippery Dicks Half-way Inn' - it was half-way between Fairbanks and Nenana.
'love and hugs from afar'
I hope Sherry is able to talk Johnny into moving back south. That is a cute house, will you be close to Shirl? You may be back in NC by the time you read this, if so, WELCOME BACK!!!! Love from here, Sheila
I like the looks of you new home. Praying that Johnny will move south also.
