Just a note about our pre-55th anniversary party. My Sherry feels like a special occasion deserves DESSERT. I needed to go to Walmart for a small tarp for our little trailer (covering it for the winter). I will look for a cake, says my girl. However we decided on a big cookie. I felt most of the folk would eat some of the big choc chip cookie.
To the lady behind the counter. “Just put Happy anniversary on it.”
“How do you spell that?”
“A-N-N-I-V-E-R-S-A-R-Y” (Three or four times!)
This is what we got:
Oh well who cares. Everyone will know what it means. I might can fix it with ketchup. Huh-uh!
Anyway our friends Mary Ann and Sam came to our motor home before the party to ride with us. We had a great time chatting and catching up. This is probably the the most time I have spent with Sam since the 50’s. We joined the USMC together, they sent me back(they found out I forged my birth certificate and was too young), Sam went on. I followed later.
He and Mary Ann were a ‘thing’ in the 50’s then married others, now with their mates passed, they are talking. I think they are enjoying renewing the old friendship. Both are good eggs.
The Party:
Smoky and Shirl were there.
Sherry’s Brother and wife, Vernon & Janet.
Grand loves Reececup and Luke Vegas, Sons: Mark & Jack
Evelyn, Don and Ed, close friends.
The meal was great, fried and broiled fish of all kinds.
Only 20 folks attended. Below is Sherry and Vernon & Janet. (Vernon has been having some rough physical problems, it was good to see them out!)
My buddy Ed Huggins (He was Sherry’s buddy first when they were kids and in school, he has become a very good friend.
Of course the place was livened up by the twins, Stephen and Joshua as they sang: ‘Memories are Made of This”, “Band of Gold” and “Side by Side”.
Thanks for coming this way. Now we can get serious about my DR. appt and moving SOUTH.

PS: Oh yes, we did get some gifts anyway!
PS2:
Middle age is when work is a lot less fun, and fun is a lot more work.
I was wondering, which is worse, ignorance or apathy? Then it hit me, Who knows? Who cares?
Car of the day:
This one is unique and I have never seen one for real:
The 1954 Chevy Nomad (that is a corvette grille, amazing this car did not catch on. I never did see one)

Happy PRE Anniversary <3 Jack & Sherry <3 the cookie made me laugh outloud ~ but I'm sure the ketchup will help. ROFL You two are sweet enough anyways.
'love & hugs from afar'
Well I see the <3 didn't turn into a heart like it does on facebook. Sorry about that. Use your imaginations. ""hugs""
Thanks for a great report on your party. You have friends everywhere. A cookie for a cake? Ha. With ketchup, no less. I don't know about you, Jack. Are you o.k.? (Jus kiddin, of course!).
Looks like the girls that write on cakes would have those words down if they can't spell. That is to funny. A good time was had by all...
The twins did a great job singing 50's songs.
Look forward to many more Anniversaries.

It was great to see all the pictures of your Anniversary pre celebration. I love seeing the faces of those you talk about now and then. That fish looks just wonderful! I've been wanting some good Lake Erie Perch myself, but no one in my family goes fishing on the lake so I'm out of luck there. It'll be good to have the doctor appt. over so you can head on down to Florida.
Thanks for sharing your pre Anniversary pictures you all look great. I love the cookie cake looks so good.Take care, jJean
Glad that you and Sherry, Family and friends had a great time. Great pictures. I used to take that cookie dough and form Ken a Valentine out of it.
