Taxing is a big

I just read where NJ will tax the weather.

Some background:

The Chesapeake Bay faces a serious pollution problem. The Environmental Protection Agency decreed in 2010 that Maryland had to stop so much stormwater runoff from draining into the Bay, a project that would cost $14.8 billion. To pay for that, authorities decided to tax "impervious surfaces" -- in the words of The Gazette, "anything that prevents rainwater from seeping into the earth (roofs, driveways, patios, sidewalks, etc.) thereby causing stormwater runoff."

We have been paying a ‘Water Run off tax’ in NC for a long time. I argued like many folk that I would put a berm around my property to hold all “MY” water in.  That didn’t work.

I had a list once of the taxes that have been added in the last 100 years. the list was ‘pages long’.

Now here is another for Maryland.

Hope you all filed your taxes, if not send us the address and we will bring you a cake (with a hack saw blade inside)

Take care..

PS:

George Harrison’s Tax Man:

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

Admit, that I try to remain without as much as possible knowledge about tax; handling over all about it to an Accountant.

Please have you all a good Friday ahead.

Maybe we won't need the cake with a hacksaw; maybe we will just get a Cabinet position, lol.

The problem with all levels of government is they think we work for them, not, as the Founders intended, that they work for US. They - and BOTH parties of guilty of this - forget that it is OUR tax dollars they are fooling with. They think our checks belong 100% to them and it is up to them to dispense what they think we need to us. Margaret Thatcher reminded Great Britain: "There is no such thing as public money. That is the taxpayer's money!"

I have a blogger friend that says they are to have a bedroom tax over in England. They have to pay if they have an spare room not in use. I thought that was way above and beyond... Hoping you all have a fantastic Friday...It's still raining here 4th day in a row.
