Disaster at the towers

Well, all is well so far. Fred was asked to sing, (yeah I know kinda surprised me also, maybe 20+yrs in Africa does things to you!) He did very well!
The nice guy in the family is Lowell, he also played and sang. He also did good. All is still going well.
Things are still going good. I am going thru the comic part of my presentation (No I am not praying, but should have been!). I do trick & comic drawings as a lead in and let the audience guess what it is gonna be. Here I am saying, "NOOOOOO, that is not it." (I am rather demonstrative sometime)

After the main picture we had a drawing for the small painting. Below, everyone is looking at their numbers.

The winner was a young lady who was thrilled, she said she had never wond anything in her entire life, that made me feel good.
Oh, the disaster? For cloth or paper to take chalk it must have what is referred to as teeth. In other words it must be rough. I tested this new velvet on one corner and it seemed to work well. I had never had a problem, so I did not anticipate any. BUT the first strike of chalk on the surface I knew I was in trouble. IT DID NOT TAKE! ALL I GOT WAS DUST FLYING THRU THE AIR AND NOT MARK ON THE VELVET! NO NO NO! I said to my self. The only way I could get it to take was put a hand behind the cloth and push out and follow the chalk(for the entire picture), and it still blurred as you can tell on the drawing below!

I did apologize, I told the audience I have done worse I am sure, but I can't remember when.
They were all nice and said it was great, but you know, YOU KNOW! I was glad the evening was over. hahahahahaha!

It has been close to 50 years since we saw Lowell, it was great to see him, Above is Lowell, their mother 'Muddie', and the OLDEST son Fred!
The night was good because of a good audience, and these good friends. The Brannens are a wonderful group.
Thanks for coming by the Blog.

PS:
Sherry was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old son, Jack Jr. to answer the phone.
Too late she heard, "No mam, my Mom can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's hitting the bottle."

I'm glad all worked out and you enjoyed your night with all the folks there. I see a lot of happy faces!

It looks like you captivated your audience, Jack. See, nothing to worry your head about.
I love the Sherry/Jack Jr. incident...too funny. It reminds me of a time Mels daughter answered the call from the clinic. You will have to ask 'her' about it tho. She'd kill me but 'she' likes to tell it. Well done, Jack.

I knew you would do good. Glad you visited
Cleveland Office and expressed your feelings about Bill'a Mothers funeral. I bet he was surprised to here compliments from a PK kid.
I agree they forget the Lady who gave her time
and worked hard.

This one was a trip down memory lane, I vividly
recall the chalk drawings and funny stories from the days when you pastored our church. If
I recall, the chalk drawings were much more fascinating than the sermons [LOL] You are as
entertaining in your Senior years as you were when I was twelve and you two were barely out of your teens!!! (now who is the smarty pants?)

Believe me, this was able to change once again my mood. Thank you for that. And yes, have a chalk story on my own as well, as a professor told me in front of thirty other students that I do Mickey Mouse drawings instead of using PowerPoint. Made me somehow proud. Please have you all a nice start into the new week.

Jack and Sherry - you two are the nicest and the seniors were thrilled with your chalk drawing that evening. You are so unselfishly giving of yourselves! Frances and I count it an honor to call you friends.
