Waking up in Tennessee!!!!

We will wake up in Tennessee for about seven mornings. I love Tennessee, but then I love every state when I am there. I think there is a song explaining my flightiness. “If you can’t love the one you want, shucks, love the one you are with.”
Quoting Scripture, St. Paul said: “I have found whatsoever state I am in, therewith to be content.”

No matter whom you name from Tennessee: Al Gore, Elvis, Jerry Lee, Tennessee Ernie, Smoky Coe, or Ben Franklin (yeah I know all these guys ain’t from Tennessee, they just wanted to be!) My man is Davy Crockett.

Fred said, once Davy was asked if he was ever lost in these hills, he said, ‘no, never have been lost, however, I have been bewildered for a few days at a time.’ A man bigger than life to me is Davy Crockett, late of Tennessee and died in Texas at the Alamo.

Tennessee is a very scenic and historical state. We are in the South Eastern corner near the Hiawassee river; the edge of the Smoky Mountains. The area just East of here is rough terrain.

Fred has a hunting cabin there and it is the area of Barney and Coker creeks That is where my new friend, the real Jack Darnell lives and writes in his retirement years. The closest town to Coker Creek, of any size, is Tellico Plains.

Before our departure from NC. I had a note or two for the boys, Matt and Luke. I went out to Mark’s house a little earlier. I was overwhelmed by the smell of Bacon and eggs. Luke had just fixed his breakfast and was walking by me. Mark looked at the breakfast and said, “That looks good, Son”.

I gave the notes to Mark to Post and left. Saying silently, “Thank you Lord for a good send off!”

WE looked over the blogs before pulling the power and read Ma’s blog that was the perfect send off for us also. Sherry says PRINT that!
We did not wait around for Sticky, the call of the road was much stronger and besides Sticky can handle his job!!!

We visited with Fred and Frances, reminisced and recalled a lot of things from our lives the others did not know. It was great.

Tomorrow night is a program for Fred’s mom, who lives in the Seniors Towers nestled on Lee University grounds here in Cleveland.
Thanks for reading the log

PS:
A husband is the man who after taking out the trash, acts like he has cleaned the whole house.
I cook around here every once in a while, when I do I make a big deal out of it. This is breakfast this morning. Egg beaters (with sautéed onions, peppers and tomato chips) tomato slices and cheese cheese on toast. (It was too big for a sandwich). I am MAN hear me roar!!!!!

Thank you for sharing the insight of a country, a state, a city. The only thing that came to me mind about Tennessee was music.
Please have a nice Friday you all.

Looks like Fred and Frances are getting a kick out of you...you're so full of funnies, from what I've read so many times. You sure know how to keep us coming back for more. Speaking of more, now, I have never seen 'egg beaters' look so fine. Ha! You cook too. Bill always makes breakfast on the weekends. I think it's his way of thanking me for making it all week along with strong coffee each morning. I cannot imagine morning coffee without him.
Have a safe trip and many fine visits.
Ya'll stay safe now.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the post. I'm just happy that my posts make someone else happy too. I get lots of enjoyment out of doing them. I'm sitting here in my camper this evening because the mosquitoes were being a nuisance . It's almost dark that's there favorite time of day. Enjoy all your visits and sites along the way!

Yesterday, Coker Creek hosted a group of anthropology students from Lee University, here helping in an archeological dig at Fort Armistead. I didn't even know there was such a thing as Lee University, and now I hear the name a second time in as many days.

P.S.The breakfast looks luscious.

That breakfast looks good. Is it humid and hot in Tennessee. We stopped there on our way to Ga. years ago and it was hot but we loved Nashville sights.
