Saturday is our normal day out. We have the wonderful ‘smarter than us’ phones, and no protectors. We dropped one and did not hurt it, but figured we needed some protectors. Son Jack, said the flea Mkt is a good place to look.
Off to look for flea mkts. no luck. We passed a huge thrift shop, looked like a party or festival Sherry said let’s look there. So I ‘WHIPPED IN’. Me, being a good driver, I did not hit anything, nor anybody. We walked past some OLD MEN picking and grinning, I paid little attention because I cannot hear well and ignore most music.
On the way out, Sherry noted, “Hey there is Eddie Williams on the Accordion,” I had already seen Clifford(RAY) Branham on the guitar.
This is the Right Rev. Branham on Guitar.
This is Eddie Williams, Preacher, educator, musician and song writer. And husband of Irma Williams, singer song writer.
Ray was the head of the Singing Branhams. He is also the father in law of a very good friend, George Coleman who is married to the Crazy and lovely Donna Branham.
These two men have sang, preached, performed before millions, and I, like many others, passed them up as old men just having fun, AND of course they were having fun, but folks were listening too. Just a couple days ago Bro Branham, George and Donna had met us for coffee.
Eddie never saw us, He is a great friend of Fred’s and has supported and assisted Fred during his Chemo. What a way to start a day.
Next we stopped at Starbucks (big spenders today) had a cup of coffee and asked the best place to get on the Cleveland Greenway to walk a spell. It was a beautiful walk, It runs behind Fred and Frances house. We ran into the little chair above. The walk was fun, running beside a nice creek. It clouded up and we decided to drive back into the Cherokee forest.
We got on a road Paula would have loved, ‘cept it was a mountain one lane road’, called ‘Towee Falls Road’. Once a beautiful doe ran in front of us for about a 100yds.
BUT the biggest surprise was a church on this narrow road, and Paula, it had a grave yard. It was raining but I had to get out….LOOK:
Several graves had beautiful toy cars and trucks on them. In the low lands they might not last long.
The one below had a 1957 Chevy Dragster.
From Towee Falls Road we took another and Sherry said ‘We just passed a road called Barney Creek.’ I knew I was not far from jack’s house, so I backed up on the road and headed down Barney Creek road.
Passing this sign, we knew we were at the birth place of our church denomination back in the late 1800’s. The sign is the only indication on this narrow mountain road.
We found Jack, just coming in from the garden. What a thrill to see him again, we chatted for about 1/2 hour and left him to his chores.
Jack is the real deal. he is an author. His books are on Amazon, his publisher is Yvette who comments here as ‘Y’. I bought his latest book,’The Winds of November’. He is now listed as ‘H. Jack Darnell’ author, to keep us separated. I have mentioned before, Jack lives in the house he was born in. It still has no electricity or running water. He writes his books on a manual typewriter.
This was such a great day, I had to try to get it all in. Thanks for coming by.

As far as I can tell this is supposed to be the first automobile. FardierdeCougnat in the 1800’s French Steam. Looks like a tricycle.

What a cute picture of Sherry on that larger than size chair! So enjoyed the ride's pictures you shared with us, Jack; that deer was neat and loved all the green scenery! I am amazed at someone living in a house without electricity or running water and typing on a manual typewriter too! Wow!
sounded like a wonderful Saturday for you all!

Music must have been great. And yes, the chair picture is great. Please have you all a good new week.

Loved seeing all the pictures. I think you might be having a little fun and enjoying your exploration. Sounds fun to me. Ya'll be safe. Beef stew here tonight and corn bread. Yummers.
Glad you got to see the other
Jack Darnell. That grave yard
was beautiful so colorful with
the flowers. That was interesting.
We only find out how it is to
live without electricity and
running water when we have a storm
that knocks everything out.
God love him he knows how to survive.

Oh my goodness that is so much news.
The men were just out playing music in the crowds? A blessing for sure.
That chair was huge.
That cemetery is just like the cemeteries out in California! They even bring meals.
You had a great day.

Now I want to know how lil' ole Sherry got up into that big ole chair? Yes I can tell I would like that road and the cemetary is so colorful. The ones we go to out in the boonies hardly have any flowers one them.
What an exciting Saturday! Thanks for sharing your journey and the nice pictures. Sherry in the chair takes the cake, hands down.
What a lovingly tended cemetery. Nice to see your friends out playing music for everybody. And your buddy Jack has quite a life living in the home of his birth typing away on a manual typewriter. That chair looks a tad bit BIG for Sherry. LOL PS)THANKS for spreading the news about me being offline. I appreciate it. I'm back but may never catch up with everybody.
You had a wonderful Sunday there. I enjoyed all the pictures and loved seeing the sights. It's amazing that anyone still lives without electricity or running water. Hope your Monday is a wonderful day too.
Sherry in the chair gave me a Lily Tomlin flashback. ~Mary
