Day 6 Medina Lake Miles today..163 Total.. 1,135 Mi

We took on 70 gals of Diesel in San Antonio @ $3.77. We did get 8.5 miles to the gallon. Good.

The trip was most flat and green:

FIRST DAY NEAR SAN ANTON 001

We had a great trip from Columbus to here. Medina lake is about 37 miles NE from down town San Antonio. And surprising to me, it is very hilly country. Lots  of greenery. Paula has been telling us all they have had some rain.  Medina lake hasn’t noticed it though, it is VERY low.

Our campsite after we reached the park.

FIRST DAY NEAR SAN ANTON 006

A thrill to all of us is the deer population, here in the park. We must have seen 100 all ready and half of them young bucks. There was one 8 pointer.

These three were just behind the camper. Notice the new furry antlers.

FIRST DAY NEAR SAN ANTON 010

WE are really having a great time with the boys. I forgot how loud they were. Every place we have stopped they have found old TV shows or movies to laugh and cut up with.

Both boys are good drivers but they drive like the rest of the world, like they are late for an appointment. Our little FIT will be glad when me or mama gets behind the wheel. LOL But I do trust them, and they do not ssscare me in the back seat much. At times they disturb our smooching though!Open-mouthed smile

FIRST DAY NEAR SAN ANTON 005

Remember the Odd Couple? That is Jack Jr. and Mark. Jack is fastidious to a fault, and Mark is sloppy to prove he is not a neatnik. Winking smile

But honestly they are a joy to be around. This probably will not happen again, so I am really enjoying watching the boys and their mama interact. At times I do get involved, but not much of course.

Thanks for coming along…

PS:

Even in their 50’s the boys are still kids when around us.

I missed a beautiful Mercury today, No camera in my hand. But here is one:

The deer are what we enjoyed the most when we were there in December. I understand people who live there can't have flowers and plants much because of them.

Glad to hear everybody is getting
along and having fun. You sure are covering some miles. I'm sure the boys are enjoying a vacation.

The deer is beautiful. I heard
you can have anything growing if you have deer around they will eat everthing.

«Louis» is amazed at how much ground you've covered!

It's too bad Ford never quite figured out what to do with Mercury... One reason Mercury is no longer with us is since '61, it wasn't different enough from the Fords to justify continuing it. The wonder is that the brand lasted as long as it did!

I can relate to what you are saying about your sons. My oldest always says he loves coming home, cause then he can feel like a kid again. To us of corse they will always be our children no matter how old they get. My kids always cut up and laugh alot when we get together too. Hope you all have a great Sunday!

I just finished my blog on my blogger family and my own family. It is a joy to hear that you all are getting along and having fun. One thing about being loud, you may hear off and on a little bit. Kids are so different when they grow up. Mine that kept their rooms pretty good are still not sloppy, The oldest living son got trained I think. lol

I happen to know a Fit driver who can scare the living daylights out of folks with his driving.
Lord have mercy on him!
