-00456 Memorable Automobiles from The Past:
The Corvette, probably the most identifiable classic made.
To lighten your day...
When I did the blog
entry on wakes I remembered we kids would pile on a bed to sleep 4-6 of us. We had
played until we were tired and had eaten all we wanted, then we crashed. Of course
the adults stayed up all night with the deceased.
Jerry was beloved throughout the South. I have laughed hours at his funny stories. This one is not long, and it is funny to us southern folk. OK here
is Jerry’s spiel of ‘Sitting up with the dead.’’ I hope it opens for you.

I hadn't heard of Jerry Clower before. I did enjoy this video; gave me a good evening's laugh :)
betty
I tried to listen and youtube wouldn't let me??? Hope you are having a nice start to the new year.
I'd totally forgotten Jerry Clower! Can't say I ever listened (before), but sure enjoyed this. Now, THAT's a wake! Probably the best time old Silas ever had?
A good comedian is hard to find, but we all need more laughter in our lives. Especially these days when there is little to laugh about. Laughter is good for the body and the soul.
It's great to have something so funny that anyone can listen too. No swear words thrown in! I'd never heard of this comedian but he's pretty darn good!
We liked Jerry Clower, my Dad especially. I saw him in person a couple of times. Had picture made with him at Dominoes Tournament in Andalusia. Went through Yazoo City many times when we lived in Mississippi. We went to see Alabama play MS State ( his alma mater) when we lived in MS and he was there at halftime. Daddy also liked Wendy Bagwell’s stories. Thanks for reminding me of good memories 😊. Sending love from up the road. Sheila
