Texting and Sexting

textingbbb

First it was flirting while driving that caused many accidents. I could understand that one. Then came the ‘car’ phone, no problem they were cool but only a few of us had them. NEXT with the Cell phone, folks got carried away talking and had a few accidents. NOW TEXTING AND SEXTING we are seeing folks being killed in accidents texting going down the road. I see it and you must see it. I hope for your sake you are not doing it. We don’t want to lose you.

I cannot test sitting at the table, well I can if I try hard enough, but it is rough for me. It would be VERY distracting if I tried it.

Every generation has its problems, and the seniors look at them and say we are headed to hell in a hand basket (whatever that means?).

watch it buster

(I want y’all to straighten up & fly right, or else…..)

I honestly think the kids are learning less in school; for one thing, simple math without a calculator is a challenge. I am facing a personal dilemma concerning couples living together and/or getting married. At my age I see living together as ‘wrong, in my day it was shacking–up ( a very out of date term). HOWEVER, I see divorce as just as bad a sign for the youth. So I have decided to back off in my judgment, judging is not my job anyway. It is hard, but folks are going to live their lives and accept the results as I have.

At 72 years old things are downhill from now on out, I have that much sense left. I hope to be able to drive this motor home for 6-10 years more and then it is STOP for safety’s sake, yours and ours. I used to could think and plan 10-20 years ahead, but no more, if you are past 70 your life is winding down. We can encourage and praise the health of some, but averages do not lie, the end is within 20 years unless you are very fortunate.

We have a friend here, W.C. Field’s son Bill. Bill is 93 and we see him weekly at Hardees. He volunteers at the hospital; both his mind & health are good. Bill is an exception.

So take care of yourself and don’t sext while driving, BILL doesn’t!

Thanks for coming this way.

Because they had no reservations at a busy restaurant, my elderly neighbor and his wife were told there would be a 45-minute wait for a table. 'Young man, we're both 90 years old, ' the husband said. 'We may not have 45 minutes.' They were seated immediately.

I do NOT text and drive. And surprise, surprise... I pull over to the side of the road if I have to take or make a call. These smartphones are too complicated to operate when driving. GREAT TOPIC.

Texting is as bad as drinking and driving.
I don't text don't know how. I have been
guilty talking on the phone but only if it
rings while driving and someone needs to find
me for a message. I call getting old in my
twilight years.

I've been ahead of this just a little before the days of cell phones) by virtue of being an amateur radio operator since 1976. I used to love driving along the highway here and talking to my friends in Africa. Of course there was not quite as much traffic then. Texting? I can do that - but not while driving! Sexting? I wouldn't think of trying that. I'd get killed one way or the other, if you know what I mean!

I keep my phone in a hip holster when I drive, do not even attempt to answer. Hope you get another 10 years of enjoyment.

I don't turn my phone while I'm driving. A lady I know ran off the road and wrecked her car yesterday. She posted on face book that she was texting. I hope I can be like Bill and stay able to keep on driving until!, lol.Take care, Jean

FANTASTIC ENTRY~~~
I worry about the kids with all the new-fangled technology that's going to kill someone we love someday. It's tragic enough when folks we don't know meet their demise because they did not use common sense. Texting, I have never done and do not care to learn. I have enough arthritis in my hands! and do not need more lock-ups of my joints.
Every one of the texters out there are headed for painful hands way before their time.
As for sexting, don't want to loose you two either, so knock it off!

Driving is a hard enough job these days without doing much of anything else. It seems there are more and more crazy drivers on the road and maybe it is because they are texting. I see a lot of it going on. I hope you do enjoy your traveling for many years to come. I'm not quite 70 yet but I know my days are growing shorter and do want to enjoy them too. Hope your both have a wonderful Friday!
