I will try to put some pictures on while this system is going on and off the net. The guys were about five hours late coming to install the units, but they made it and the weather was beautiful and HOT.
There are more than our carports on the trailer.
Unloading and getting staged
I did help, I retrieved a hammer to straighten a stubborn insert. The worst thing about this was having our home on this hill, the door would about knock you over, or pen you in.
You know I had to help, other than carry water.
Sun is still out and hot. As they start raising the ribs.
The first of the sheet metal went up and note the cloud cover. This came up fast. There was a Bright flash of lightening and a super crash. Sherry yelled GET HIM DOWN FROM THERE! The hail and rain came in waves. The winds bowed the heavy oaks 25 to 30 ft. I was trying to help the other worker get a ladder up in the wind, all had blown over. I yanked my hearing aids out and stuck in them in my pocket to try to protect them. The guy on the top did not wait. he done a ‘skin the cat’, hand walked over to the side an slide down one of the ribs.
They were disappointed because the power was out. I told them not to worry, The motor home has a generator, they continued to work.
BElow is the sky after the storm. we had three news helocopters flying surveying the damage. Sherry rode out and made a report of huge trees down all over the town.
I heard a yell from the guy above and he is pointing just behind some small trees in the yard. We went over to see this. This was the huge BANG in the beginning.
This is about 25 feet from where the guy was on top of the car port when the lightening hit.
It was dark when they finished the units. The Moon was full and the sky clear. So many folks have damage, we consider ourselves VERY FORTUNATE.
What a difference a day makes:
Yesterday morning.
This morning we woke up to this. And we are proud.
We could have lost it all in that storm, but today we are high and dry.

WoW! That was too close for comfort, old man! I'm so glad you were protected and not harmed in any way. The new ports look great and I rejoice with you.
The car and rv ports do look great. Now I see why you have such a big driveway there. Glad the storms are over and all is ok there.
Glad no one was hurt and no serious property damage. I'm sure it feels good to have something to park the vehicles under. I never understand people around here who have a perfectly good garage and they have it full of junk and their car sitting out in the weather.
What a cool way to take us with you on installing everything. That picture behind the tree is really something. To think you got it done despite all the weather drama.

Now back in business. There is serious
damage all over the town. I think they said
over 5,000 out of power. I could not believe
how much stuff was on the trailer when I left
there yesterday. Looks very professional.

Good thing you had that generator in the RV so work could continue. Those ports look GREAT. But what an ordeal that storm caused while trying to put 'em up. Glad you're all safe and that the job got done.

I was praying for the fella on the metal roof while you translated. Man, too close, right next door where the lightening struck. The Big Guy upstairs was looking out for you all.
The ports look great. You ain't so bad either...I left you a comment a couple entries back.
As for showers, mine has to be tempered before I step close to the shower head. I used to just step right into that cold spray, but not anymore. The ol' joints say no, no, no!
Our weekend plans have already gone south...
