Christmas

Christmas-Tree-Nature1024-226431

The most wonderful time of the year. When you are older you can appreciate Christmas, but especially Christmas, Past.

Here in our motor home we are not opening presents. Today we will enjoy the quiet company of each other over coffee and  Sherry’s latest recipe for breakfast: half apple, Half banana, handful of raisins and pecans (all chopped) topped with oatmeal, I added brown sugar today.

WE will reminisce of Christmas Past. The joys of seeing our sons wake up and the thrill of smiles and hugs when opening the presents. The satisfaction of holding each other as they flew out the door to play.

We will talk about the skates, bikes, clothes and fruits we had and the joy shared with the neighborhood kids, as we  were thrilled with our Christmas Presents.

Presently, we know the kids and grand kids are making their own memories. The ones that they, hopefully, one day will remember with smiles and enjoy as much as we remember and enjoy ours. There will be phone calls, e-mails, FB msgs or texts to and from all of the family, but we will thank God we can still share each other. Many do not have that luxury.

I don’t remember any special Christmas dinners, truthfully all of mama and Sherry’s dinners were great, but I do remember dad’s very serious prayers as he thanked God for all our many blessings and gifts.  I don’t remember my mama or daddy ever getting a present from each other. What they had was used on the children.

This year I am thankful for the gift of friends, love of family and most of all for health and our home.

Motor home and Christmas 016

If anyone has time on this especially busy day to read, I hope this is a wonderful memorable time. And that we all remember that the holiday we celebrate is about the birth of CHRIST, therefore it is CHRIST MASS, or our CHRISTmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.

Thanks again for stopping by.

PS:

If you do not celebrate this day as Christmas, then HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU, it is still a magic time of the year.

I love this old Ford, I wanted to use it once more. Plus other repeats I liked.

Merry Christmas to both of you! You are very blessed to have each other to celebrate with. That oatmeal sounds very good! Christmas memories are wonderful and Christmas present is something to be thankful for too!

Well hello there Sherry and Jack on this beautiful Christmas day. Would you believe (yes you would) John and I just ate Christmas lunch at Burger King. I had planned to cook but John suggested riding down the strip to see what is open. Didn't have to tell me twice. I don't need hoopla it's Jesus birthday not mine. One daughter and husband coming later and with John's family Friday night. Go with the flow, that's my motto. Inlaws like to see kids too. I had them all to myself when they were young. We may even go see the cows when Lynda and Dennis leave. You two enjoy the rest of this beautiful Christmas day.

I do agree the older we get, the more we talk about Christmas pasts. I loved the Christmases when the kids were young and would love to have them back, but realize we are in a different season these days and we can make new traditions. Your breakfasts sound delicious!

Seems to be you and Sherry had a very nice day together!
