Sherry was the duty photographer today. Here, I am SETTING THE JIGS, to hold the second rail.

Here you will notice I am having trouble straightening up! (LOL) After screwing the leftside second rail.

The right side second rail being marked to cut. I had to inset it, Handicap guidlines require 36" clear between rails.
Cutting the notches for the right second rail.

That didn't take long, of course it is a short ramp.

Good to relax after the tools are up and the the jobsite cleaned.
Today I also got brakes on the Old International tractor, fixed a fence and replaced a ball joint on a four wheeler. All of it fun.
Tomorrow we take a ride to the VA hospital in Salisbury to see if I can get an appointment to have my hearing aids adjusted.
Then we drive to Winston Salem to see a pastor who needs some volunteer work done on their church. If we can do the work we will head up there next week for a few days.
Thanks for coming by the log.

PS:
We do enjoy volunteering when we can. It is fun not to be under any pressure and the work is so appreciated. I have been blessed, mom named me right, I really am a jack of a lot of trades and a shade tree fix it man. AS I stated once before, I have fixed a lot of things and did not know how I did it, and could not do it again probably.
Some folks love golf, shopping, hunting etc. Me I love tools and working. I love a challenge of fixing something. I stated it before, I love to clean bathrooms and kitchens. I love shiney faucets. That is the Sailor in me, SHINE THAT BRASS!

You and Mel would have liked each other. He loved the challenge of fixing anything that someone else had given up on. He liked to talk about anything with anyone too. The ramp looks so nice.

You are a good man to volunteer your time and talent like that. I'm sure Sherry does her share also. Two good people I am proud to know, three counting Shirl. Take care, Sheila

Wonderful ramp! ~ if I do say so myself. Now... on to the shiny faucets ~ I have a wedding coming up in August and I wouldn't turn down any brass shining around here if your motor home were to find it parked in my back yard... hint ... hint.

You and Sherry are good people ~~ and the Good Lord has blessed you with the talents of being the Jacks of all trades for a reason.

Good looking ramp and Sherry takes good pictures. You know you and Joe are about the same age and he has a hard time straightening up when he bends for a while. Now me---I just try not to bend, but you 2 are spring chickens compared to me. You are a good man and Sherry has got to be good to live in close quarters with each other. All joking aside, You are really good caring people.

I agree Brother you can do anything. I can't count the many things you have fixed for me.
Last one was my 40 year stand up hair dryer.

They say work is only work if you are not enjoying it. I'd say your work is more play since you obviously enjoy it. You are a blessing and being able to volunteer your talents is something all of us could do more of. I think that is what the good Lord gave them to us for.

BlessYourHeart Dear Jack-of-all-Trades. You WERE rightly named, by gosh, by golly. Ya know, I only live 8 miles from Mel and I have lots of things you could tinker with and I'm sure Bill would get a kick out of a playmate for awhile. He doesn't consider work, ... work, either...all play with no pay. But you can bet I'd bake ya something after a good ol home cooked meal........now if that isn't a hint.........
all kidding aside, You are a true Brother to all you get to know and the hearts you touch. God has Blessed you BIG. You too Sherry...God Bless Your Sweet Heart
