Sitting here in the motor home in my coat with the generator running, a gas furnace and three electric heaters going, my mind goes back three or four days to Rainbow Springs, FLORIDA. We were improving and increasing our walks. Things were looking good with Temps in the high 70’s and early 80’s. BIL Johnny is gonna pay for this when he gets better. I have told everyone that early spring or late fall is the time to die, marry, and celebrate or get sick.
Young Live oaks
Winter is the time to be in the sun in Fla, Southern Texas, NM or AZ. Oh ho, are you familiar with live oaks? I was not. I thought I knew ever oak until I went south. The live oak is a beautiful tree, but crooked as a barrel of fish hooks. I remember reading somewhere that the live oak made a great mast for sail ships. Who are they kidding? I have never seen a straight live oak yet. I am posting examples.

I am going to try and not be too crude here, but there is an important thing men need to learn, and that is how to aim. For years I have said men are absolutely nasty in a toilet. Most men should sit on the stool to do ALL their business. Men cannot seem to get the hang of keeping ever drop in the urinal or commode. The last one or two drops end up on the floor for someone to clean up. There are a lot of little ditties and poems that go with that but I will not list them. WE maybe faster than the girls, but we are not as neat.
Okay that leads into something I just saw at Rainbow springs. There is a waterless urinal now put out by ‘Sloan Valves’, I do not know how it works but it does not smell and uses no water to flush. I have heard that in Sweden they bake the image of a fly into the urinal at a strategic location. Without thinking men aim at it. Men are warriors they want to aim. We feel emancipated if we hit what we aim at. That goes for using the urinal also.
So here at Rainbow Springs I SEE A TARGET, it is a small blue seashell.
I am reminded because they have the same here at St. Joseph’s hospital.
Sorry girls, I didn’t go into the ladies room to see if they gave you a target and I forgot to ask Sherry.
That is tonight’s wisdom.

PS:
Why is a person who plays the piano called a pianist but a person who drives a race car is not called a racist?

I'll show this post to the maintenance crew at work...maybe we can replace the "Mystery Flusher"....but, we'd probably have to get the governors approval.....LOLOLOL....can you see that budget and work request.....stay safe...
When I lived in Mo. I had a small lake that was lined with several types of oak trees that had been planted over 50 years prior. They were all very tall and had huge trunks. On their visits my Mom and Dad marveled over their size. Thanks for the memories. Now watch your aim! How is Johnny doing? Keeping him in our prayers!
'love & hugs from afar'
I am hoping you all can make it back to your nice warm Florida soon. We are still expecting lots more snow by tomorrow. Take good care and keep warm.
That will make me look at trees better than before. Interesting detail ;) so far i've seen either a small fly or a lamp / candle respectively as 'target'.
Wishing you all a good Friday.
Hope Johnny is improving and you can get back
to Fl. We had two very large water oaks at
our Charlotte location. They sure could produce
the leaves to be raked up. Keep warm. Surely
things will improve.

We had a live oak tree in our backyard in Texas and it wasn't straight either...had a couple of hollow limbs too...one held a snake once and another we planted a cactus in. But I liked that old tree. According to google earth, a pool was put in and the tree is gone... :( Shirl and I may have to ship you some more heaters, how are you keeping the pipes from freezing? Hope Johnny is improving every day. You and Sherry stay 'hugged' up to keep warm... Love ya, Sheila
I hope it warms up for you soon. I can't imagine living in a place that cold. lol. You and Sherry stay warm and don't get sick.
Hey, dear friends, we had a heat wave today at 32 degrees ABOVE zero...amazing and warm enough to play outside for an hour today. Live here long enough and you get used to it.
As for your aim????AH, so my guys aren't the only ones that need improvement. LOL And yes, do not freeze your pipe..I mean pipes. Glad you moved to a warmer spot....at least where you have electricity. Stay warm and prayers are still for ya'll.

I once worked in a store which was being renovated. During the renovation process, the women and men had to share a restroom (a single stall with a lock on the main door). One of the men who worked there was really insulted when one of the women put up a little sign which said,
"We aim to please.
Would you aim, too, please?"
I had never heard of the target emblems in the urinals. I like the idea of a candle emblem. What would be cool is a candle emblem in which the "flame" disappears when the target is hit. LOL
The live oaks are very interesting. I love trees (but generally don't hug them). There were not any live oaks in the area I grew up in; their range is farther east. I don't know about ship masts, but the framework of the USS Constitution was made of live oak and earned the nickname "Old Ironsides."
You may have read in tne news recently about some nut who poisoned the historic live oaks at Toomer's Corner (Auburn U.). Hopefully the trees can be saved.
