(Just to make it clear, I know dish cloth and wash cloth are good terms, but I was raised with Wash Rag and Dish Rag, and still use them occasionally, when we don’t have company,LOL, you guys are not company!)
I learn hard, but I do learn. You cannot wash a pan you just made spaghetti sauce in with the dishrag, or it will be permanently red or pinkish. LOL
When I was ‘REALLY’ working and getting ‘REALLY’ dirty I learned I could not use a white wash rag. So I bought some dark blue ones, they do not stain as visibly.
Now when I have a pot in the sink, I use a lot of soap and my handy brush. I haven’t stained it yet.
Hey our Christmas decorations are down, back under the bed until next year. We are on the road to a small town, Wauchula, FL. We have been there before, but have never stayed there. It will be new to us and we are looking forward to it.
We have been doing well, we have been getting in 3-4 miles of walking a day and feel good. I smile when I think of the year 2013, I can remember when I thought 1985 was centuries away.
Sherry found an article about a young lady back home, 104 years old, who is still very alert. When asked about her longevity, she said, ‘live life one day at a time’. Now folks, we all know that is GOOD advice, it actually corresponds with the ‘Serenity Prayer’, my favorite prayer and philosophy. BUT hard to do.
I have heard the advice, ‘Put in the Lord’s hands and accept what happens.’ Hey, I can do that but if the Lord don’t fix in fast, I want to help!
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to solve problems, when they are not yours? You got a problem? I know what to do!
Oh, Mine? they are so much more complicated.
Thanks for coming by the log.
I heard someone say, I remember 2012 like it was a couple days ago. (But not for long)
I know it is winter and near Christmas, but
what is the year of the cars?
1956 for the cars? Sounds like a nice getaway for you and Sherry to explore that city! Good for you for the exercise; that's one way to keep young! (not that you guys are old :)
I tend to use sponges for washing dishes and then every week or so throw it away and start again; I think my mom would use rags; always rags for washing the floor; her philosophy which she passed on to me was a floor was not clean unless it was hand washed on knees :)
Enjoy the day!
Exactly - I can help everyone else - but can't figure out my own! lol
I'm like Betty and use sponges. I also use a little Clorox now and then to get the stains out. I just spray the sponge in the kitchen sink and it looks like new. We had scrub rags back in the day too. Scrubbing walls and floors with old worn out dish rags from the rag bag was a must. Now I love the new Swifters they have and I don't have to get on my hands and knees anymore. A new place for the new year sounds like a good thing. Hope your travels are safe and happy! Had to let you know...it was only 9 degrees here this morning. BrrrChill!

Wauchula! Next door to paradise, right? I think that a '57 Chev and a '55 Ford Convertible? Those were great years for cars. I'm wishing for the sunshine! It's been rainy and cloudy since Monday evening, altho the temp has been moderate and in the 40s.
Hugs to you both as you travel to Wauchula! Happy traveling to you both...I'm thinking happy thoughts for you, and you know that I can't wait to hear about and see photos of your latest adventure.
You two are amazing. Continued blessings and love to you!!
A young lady of 104? Smile.
My mom always said dish rag, always.
I use those throw away dish cloths.
I knew Louis would get the years of
Oh to be 104 and still have the mind.
If my husband was home he could tell me the exact year and make of the cars, all I can say is 50 models
