We are on the road back to Wildwood. We like the area there, and we stay at Three Flags a good park.
Love our neighbors at 3 Flags.
While there we will drive to check our mail, about 30 miles. We are sort of addicted to a Cajun Chicken place called BoJangles. There are only a few of them in Florida, but they just opened one between Leesburg and Tavares Florida, ON THE WAY TO CHECK THE MAIL.
We really are looking forward to that.

Sherry and I sit here sometimes and truly enjoy seeing the pictures that come up on the screen saver. When I was a kid I loved to look at mama’s picture books. The old ones with the black felt type paper. The pictures were held in by the black corner stickers. I think we had two of them and then a shoe box with old photos in it.
(A park of unique figures hand made from concrete bottles and stuff salvaged from the road side, Wisconsin)
(Gateway Arch St. Louis, Laura Engle's attended school here before she wrote the little house on the Prairie)
Now, with thousands of pictures stored from allover the USA and part of the world, we can name most of the places and all the folks who pop up. It is fun. We have been fortunate to travel a lot so we have too many pictures. Pictures from all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Europe, About 30 different countries.
One of the most unique to me, in the Navy I had the pleasure of traveling the Dardanelles twice. That is something to see. The most spectacular site was seeing Mt. Vesuvius, in Sicily, erupt at 2am. As our ship passed thru the Straits of Messina. It was a thrill seeing Robert’s Athens two or three times.
(First trip to Athens was paid bythe government, The AKA 107 skipper was my Driver. LOL)
(The Eiffel Tower and a Castle in Germany, with color film)
We have been blessed with good health, we worked very hard with a plan to travel. I built a lot of houses and saved so we could travel. We own some nice properties, but we prefer the smaller lifestyle in the motor home. It moves, like today, I get to ride beside my bride and enjoy the open road.
Thanks for coming by the log
Nite Shipslog
PS:
We pass this way only once. I have seen some miserable folk and I wondered if they thought this was just a practice life, THIS IS NOT A DRESS REHERSAL, this is the real thing. ENJOY IT!
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I know the ‘47 Fleetline but is that a ‘48 Caddy convertible?

I like your statement that this is not a dress rehersal but the real thing. Good reminder!! Bojangles sounds like an interesting place to eat; I'm not much for too spicy of food, but always enjoy trying something new.
Enjoy traveling to your new location!
I think it is neat you have all those pictures saved like that, so as they cross your screen, it will bring back memories of those times :)
betty
Aaahhhhh Wildwood...!!
How blessed you are to have traveled to so many wonderful places...near and far.
I love Wildwood. Hugs and happy times to you both as you enjoy time spent there.
I looked carefully at the picture of your ship. My heart leaped; my Daddy's ship is (was) the USS Appalachian, and when I saw the b/w photo of your ship, I crossed my fingers hoping and wishing it could be the same one. He served in the Navy in WWII and has been (and still is) looking for any shipmates from the USS Appalachian. (Daddy is 86 years old.) I have done extensive searching, but to no avail.
Still, it is so good to see a fellow Navy man and a photo of his ship.
Hugs and smiles to you,
Jackie
Looks like a peaceful place and
the neighbors are not noisy.
In the service station picture I can see the ESSO sign. Jim's aunt was Miss ESSO in 1942. She also retired with them. I don't think
people today stay with the same
Company like in the old days.
Better check your mail for Birthday
Cards. The day is almost here.
Looks like you are in some trees there. Hope you get some shade. I remember how I loved camping the woods and how much cooler it was for us there. Of course in the winter time the sun isn't as hot, even in Florida. Hope you get your chicken and that there is only good news in the mail for you.
Yes, one remembers things seen for ever.
Please have you all a wonderful Thursday.
Jack, Happy Birthday, old man! I'm glad you finally caught up with me. Loved that cake and it's just nice that friends remembered you. I just made two batches of peanut butter fudge...and your's is sitting out cooling. I know you don't like it much, but I'll save it for you anyway. Right? Hmmm - if I eat it all I'll make more next time we get together.
Jack, «Louis» hopes you'll link this to Sunday Bridges this coming Sunday since you have that nice bridge shot in the post.
«Louis» can't identify the convertible you think might be a '48 Caddy. The '48 Cadillacs got the "P51" tail fins. And the tail lights on the '46-'47 models weren't like the ones we see on this car. It isn't a Pontiac, either, nor is it a Buick. Oh! «Louis's» got it now! It's the JacSher Mystere!
Jack, the Mystere might be a '46 Olds with customized tail lights....
Oops! It's a '46 Pontiac!
When I saw your pineapple upside down cake I thought I had the wrong date in my birthday book but I see according to Shirl I do have the correct date. Sooo I'm wishing you a very nice birthday tomorrow and many many more to come.
Happy Birthday ! Love this post !
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK!!! It seems you have led one of the most interesting lives along with Sherry. Keep on enjoying what you are doing as long as you can. I know you have spoken of when it might be time to hang it up and that happens to all of us regardless of what it is. I have a feeling you will still be doing it for some time.
It IS impressive that you put all those photos where you can enjoy them daily! Love seeing the places you've traveled to. "Having your bride beside you" brings a smile, you two are such an inspiration!
Happy Birthday...may the love that you give always come back to you.
You have the best life - you need to let Sherry do a quest post once in awhile - would love to see her take on things.
