Butter pecan Ice Cream
Tomato sandwiches with Duke’s mayonnaise.

I like a Gypsy life (but with family connections)
I love walking in the woods with a back pack.
I like seeing old friends and I love the ocean.
I love my family.
I like to remember mom & dad and my siblings, they were all wonderful.
I love having Shirl left to share life and talks with.
I love knowing I have friends, even ones I have never seen and I love seeing new places and then, seeing places again.

I LOVE tools and the smell of sawn lumber.
I guess us humans can like and love many things, but one I cannot miss is Sherry. I love my wife of 56+ years. But that is a secret, I have told no one. HAHA!!!
I had an Epiphany once (that is a moment when you suddenly realize or understand something important).
Late one night as now, me typing and Sherry in the bed reading. I always knew she was important to me. But sitting here I REALLY realized and understood, I would have nothing, be nothing if not for her.
She is my best friend and lover.

PS:
There is much in this life that you know. Some things are left of you to wonder about.

It's wonderful to see your list of things you like and yes, you are blessed with having Sherry in your life. I hope she reads this post and knows just how much you think of her. That banana sandwich with cheese gave me a moments pause though. I can't quite imagine what that combo must taste like. I do like peanut butter, bananas and mayo. Now I'll be on the outlook for Dukes mayo...I've never had that either. Here it is mostly Hellmans. Hope you and your lovely wife of 56+years have a wonderful Sunday there!
I love these, Jack! (Well, most of them - lol; I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the banana n' cheese!)
What struck me ... I suspect most folks these day-and-age find it much easier to identify what they DON'T like. (Me, for instance....sigh.) What a struggle, some years ago when our group was tasked with making lists of "100 Things" (eg, likes, dislikes, things I miss, etc.)
... Perhaps it's time to resurrect that exercise? Thanks for the idea .... (and the chuckles!)
I read the other two comments and they are spot on. It is so nice to see or read what others are happy about. I mean it is okay to talk about what hurts - but they one has to go on and look for what they love. You have a wonderful mate and I know you love her. I know what Dukes is. And I like tomato sandwiches and mayo. Grilled cheese with tomatoes. Isn't it funny? Everyone has such different tastes. A lot of your dreams and likes - I like too. Keep dreaming.
Sandie
I like my grilled cheese with mayo, my bananas with mayo, and occasionally my pineapple with mayo and of course tomato with mayo is a given....all sandwiches by the way. A banana by itself I like with chocolate milk. Hope your day is going well. Rick had a little spill on the ice yesterday, due to stubbornness :-) , but he didn't hurt anything but his pride, thank goodness. He's a little sore today but that's expected. These bodies don't like those sudden shakeups...ha. Take care, Sheila
I like your list of loves and likes, Jack; we share many of the same likes in food :)
Sherry truly is a gem!! And I know she feels the same about you!!!
(thanks for your kind words about the picture of me and my mom :)
betty
I loved reading your list, Jack.
It tells so much more about you...and I was going to go ahead and put you in my family tree KNOWING that we must be closely related UNTIL I read that you like tomato sandwiches. There we part kinship! :))
But...knowing that you love apples with salt...back you go into my family tree!!
The sweetest of all was the love of your Sherry. How heartwarming and wonderful that is. I hope that she reads your blog. Precious.
Thank you for sharing your list.
I love it....truly.
Jackie
This is one of my all time favorite posts, made me smile and almost cry...that's what great writers do!
Thank you.
Please have you all a good new week ahead.
I love you and Sherry, love chatting with you on e-mail. Love life although I have my sad times after Jim's death after 44years of marriage. I love old cars, I love shopping. As they say I shop like I am on a Mission from GOD. Love people and when they need someone to listen I am there. I must admit I love shoes. What lady doesn't. I ending as I go to the kitchen and get some snacks, I also love snacks. Stay warm.
Interesting entry about your likes. I is so wonderful you and Sherry share such a wonderful life and love the same things.
Great entry! I like tomato sandwiches with mayo. (I buy the store brand that is the most like Dukes.) I eat banana and peanut butter or banana and mayo. Never thought of banana and cheese.
It's great that you are able to express your thoughts about Shirl and about Sherry.
hee hee...
«Louis» only likes two kinds of ice cream:
1) Home made
2) Store bought
«Louis» sees a fine-looking '56 Lincoln in the service station shot.
oh, yes, «Louis» likes that MG, too.
He thinks that's a '55 Olds in the service bay of the gas station. There's a '61 Chevy and what he thinks is a '48 Pontiac - not sure - near it. On the street is a mid-'50s Mopar (Plymouth?) and a '57 Dodge. Across the street is what appears to be a '55 Buick Special in front of a '61 Rambler with not one but two Hudsons. This image appears to have been taken in California.
Loved hearing about what you like!
I'm having trouble trying to leave a comment. So I keep trying. I hope you don't end up with several. I just wanted to comment to say I enjoyed hearing what you like.
