Memorable Automobiles from The Past:
For today:
It never
fails, once this coach gets on a highway whether 50 or 500 miles I look over at
my favorite traveling companion and say, “I love this!”
While I
was settling-up “John” came over to introduce himself and talk. He had just parked
also. “I am only here for a week then heading for New York.”
Local village Festival in Rondout Valley!
Every time
I hear that, I have to tell myself, ‘they did not say New York City!’ WE have a
membership park in Rondout Valley, NY.
It is amazing how much country is in New York, and most folks
(especially southerners) think NY is all skyscrapers and people.
A view of Rondout Valley, NY
I was
pleasantly surprised at the friendliness and 'country' that NY has. You know ‘Woody’
here in the blogisphere, He & his Honey have also introduced a nice part of
NY. We like to get our mail ‘general
Delivery’ and have met some wonderful folk in those one-person Post Offices in
Rural NY.
BUT there is NO Place like the Midwest to drive a motor home. When we get past the Mississippi and before we reach the California state line, is the choice of ‘great’ for scenery, beauty and great driving.
A Rancher's idea of fun, a giant Pronghorn or Antelope?!
Our Sons in the Badlands of the South Dakota:
Well there is also Sturgis, it is on the way. LOL
Of
course today the traffic here in Florida was nice and ‘relaxful’. We eat out most moving days. Sherry said “What about Pizza for supper?” Sounds good to me. I enjoy most Pizza places,
but my girl has an opinion that Pizza Hut is THE place, and that is okay with
me.

Pizza Hut does make good pizzas. We just had pizza from there last weekend when we got together with DIL and the grands. So true about New York being more than just New York City. Parts of it are really gorgeous (in pictures I have seen). You certainly do have the traveling bug, Jack :) It is nice to read of your adventures on the road, past and present!

Glad y'all made it safely and are already making a new friend. I smiled when reading how you turned to Sherry and said, "I love this." Simple pleasures!
Until getting to know Linda (thatsmesimplylinda.blogspot.com) my knowledge of New York State was like yours. They enjoyed their time there for a while -- until crazy politics and out of control inflation prompted them to move 'home' to Ocala last month.
Wow, I haven't been to pizza hut in years as we usually pick a local place Jack really loves. However, we do have pizza hut here in Ohio and 6 acres of land big enough for a large RV so if you ever want to stop and chat, dinner at the hut is on us!
Glad to see that you are once again safely parked and made a new friend. I've never been to New York, but it isn't far from Ohio. I just don't get out much. I loved to camp and envy your doing so. It would be nice to just pick up and go. Enjoy your new place and the people there ! Love from Ohio !
