Most of my adult life I have noticed that wind usually lays in the
evenings, BUT lately here in Florida the wind has picked up at night? WHY???
I like a clean car, sadly even in our
home area I let it slide. But believe it
or not, I have noticed here in Florida that is tougher than the upper East Coast. This dusty
sand blows and is sneaky, you do not notice it accumulating.
I really enjoy a good tomato by itself with salt, on a
sandwich or in a salad, BUT lately I have noticed that they do not taste as
good as they once did. I miss the great big juicy tomatoes my mama raised!
I noticed the price of GAS***! I am beginning to miss ‘affordable’
gasoline. I paid $4.17 this week. Don’t
get me wrong, we in the USA have always paid less per gallon than MOST
countries of this world. (Ref TT's post lately about coons and gas, theft)
I have noticed new shades of Green on cars and trucks lately. I still lean to Grey, silver or bluish colors
for cars.
I noticed on Betty’s Blog her 'W' post concerned water. She brought up the practice of controlled
flooding for irrigation. Example: They flood a park near her to water the
grass. That reminded us of the flooding we noticed around Yuma while traveling.
On certain days The ditches are filled with water and homes in those areas have
little gates they open to flood their yards to feed their grass water. WE were
amazed seeing that.

$4.13 a gallon for gas? Wowzer.
We don't care for dirty vehicles, either ... yet, there they sit covered in pollen paste. Tom probably wishes we'd held out for a house with a garage.
I've always preferred a beige or gray vehicle, but my eyes lit up at the sight of a 2022 Toyota Rav4 -- "Ruby Flare Pearl" they call it.
The best colour for a car is dust colour. That way you don't need to clean it so much. It is so annoying after I clean my car that birds drop their deposits all over it. There are birds everywhere over here. Sparrows, blackbirds, magpies and pigeons too. Today I saw a hawk overhead. He'd just heard I cleaned my car. bad aim ... missed the car and hit me instead. I asked my wife for a piece of toilet paper. She said, "What's the use, the hawk has flown miles away by now!"
My wife likes to do bird impressions. She eats worms.

The price of gas here is at 3.88 but that is still high as far as I'm concerned. God floods my yard every winter and Spring. When we have visitors from the west they always comment on how green it is in Ohio. Both our vehicles are silver. Frankly, most of the cars now a days look so similar and I won't mention how many times I've tried to get into a car and realized it wasn't mine! Ha! Have a good weekend. I've been a bit MIA lately but hopefully will be back on track now!
Thanks for the shout out, Jack! People do flood their yards here too just like the parks are flooded :) Our gas is about 60 cents higher here per gallon! Our present cars are white. Supposedly they show the dirt less??

I've noticed on many blogs that people are complaining about the wind more than ever this year. All over the country. I wonder what's up with that? Yup, we live in the southwest and if you need to irrigate you get your turn when they fill up the ditch with water. You then can open your gate to let the water flow in and irrigate your yard, garden etc.
One thing we don't worry about here is lack of water. It's rained most of April and will starting in May too. The grass is green and growing and I have a standing puddle in my yard. It's definitely wet out there. I wish we could share with those in drought areas out west with all those fires.
Watering the sprinkler method always seemed to me, a waste of water as most of it evaporates before doing the plants much good....we always water our gardens from rainwater barrels or late in the evening with, regretably, the sprinklers. It is what it is. We still manage to get a fantastic productive garden....I love the flooding idea...
loven'hugs from up north where it's sprinkling out right now...we do need it and it's so much nicer at this time of the year than snow...
