That line

 Some thoughts for today:

Awhile back I mentioned a serious line from a well known book.  I guess lots of movies and books have that oneline, I think we all know this line, “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a d-mn!”

And “Go ahead, Make my day!”

I was telling Sherry the only line I remember of Bruce Willis.  It was from ‘Moonlighting.’  David had made an excuse to Maddie that he could not be someplace she needed him because a friend had a problem with his liver. I need to be there for the operation.

The next day She asked him how his friend was, the one with the liver problem.

The great character actor he was ;-) he said, “Oh he is fine. It was bad, they just took it out.”

“WHAT? He cannot live without a liver!”

As only he could, with the facial expressions, “He proceeded to tell her the surgeon had worked things out and his buddy didn’t need his liver anymore!”

He knew he was caught in a lie. You know, forging forward anyway, digging himself in deeper. You had to see it, but it cracked me up.  Of all the good stuff he did over the years, I NEVER forgot that silly back & forth!

PS: My life:

"I read many recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and I think, 'Well, that's not going to happen.'"

I LOVED 'Moonlighting'!
But Jack, you had my heart racing for a few seconds. I don't recall that scene about the liver; instead, I was thinking you were about to quote his famous movie line that begins, "Yippee-ki-yay." (I can't finish that phrase here on a family blog, but you might ask JJ or Mark -- or Google it.)

PS - That's so funny about the recipe, aka sci-fi.

I agree about the recipes lol. I like to look at them but if they have a lot of ingredients and take a long time to prepare it truly is not going to happen.

I did enjoy Moonlighting , also his many films thereafter.

Mevely is right ... I thought of the phrase Yippee-ya-aya ... and the rest!!

God bless.

Bruce Willis is one of my favorite actors. I seen Die Hard 3 times with 3 different dates and pretended it was the first time I seen it each time. Haha. I really did!

Yippee ki Yaay!

I'm always collecting new recipes to try out, but many time I just go the easy route and fix a sandwich for dinner. Meanwhile I have a good collection. Ha ! I love to cook but don't like the clean up afterward.

I'm a recipe hound off of Pinterest......I do try them and the ones we don't like get tossed immediately....never to be made again !!! Lol I don't care for anything that takes a day to make....not for me either. Bill especially loved Bruce Willis movies, especially a Die Hard fan. You're a loyal follower. There are 8 more of his movies that were ready to view or in the making. It's said they will finish them. We want to see them all. It's sad tho, that he's been so stricken as to stop his fabulous acting career. It's time for lots of praying for him.
