There is you and there is me!

 Automobiles from The Past:

An early Woodie, looks English, appears to be a Jag grill..

For today:

I have learned when I have a problem if I ask, I can get a lot of expert advice. Shucks even if I don’t ask.  Also on the other hand, if folks would follow my ‘learned and expert’ advice their problems would vanish.

I don’t know ‘zackly why it is, BUT my problems are usually much tougher to solve than yours. LOL

Please do not take me wrong, I am not making fun. I have had some great advice some I have tried to follow and it worked. I remember my dad’s ‘seldom offered’ advice and it was always wise.

But it does seem that it is easier to find answers to other folk’s problems than it is mine.  Why is that?  I do know I am not alone.

My BIL Sonny was a very conservative person. But when he and Collette were first married they bought too many things on the credit. He owed several businesses $5-$10 a month. That was a lot of money when you worked for $.50-$.75 an hour. So he bought into a Loan Company’s idea of ‘Consolidate your bills’, so they did. He said it wasn’t long until he was tending to buy something else on the credit, they realized it, and agreed to pay off everything and try to live debt free. He said, "Debt free is better!"

Advice I have received today:

Today MA said: “I try to leave things better than I found them!”

Today Victor quoted Mr. Unknown: "Let go of the things that stand between you and Me, and trust Me with your life. It sounds pretty scary, but when we let go, we find freedom and safety in His hands."

Betty said today that Google has many answers, but she always says: God has ALL THE ANSWERs!

Advice I once was given, “When your heart is right, look there, you will find the answer.”

There are times a human will not listen to even GOOD advice……  I try and try, but….  Some of Y’ALL are stubborn!!!  LOL  ;-)

PS:  Things that seem to work:

"Worrying must work! More than 90 percent of the things I worry about never happen."

Thank you for the mention dear friend. Indeed, we need to let go our fears and worries and doubts. They stand in the way of our trust and faith in God.

As for advice ... my grandfather told me once, "Never ever take advice from anyone!" So I ignored him.

My other grandfather advised me, "there are two words that will always open doors for you in life ... PULL and PUSH".

My other grandfather was very ill once and whilst lying in bed he pointed at me and said, "You ... selfish!" So I became a fishmonger. When he got better he wasn't impressed at my lack of understanding.

God bless Jack and Sherry.

The only part of our newspaper I enjoy reading is the advise column. I marvel at the dumb things people ask advice about and how screwed up folks lives are! However, I'm the one reading it so I guess I must enjoy other's problems! When faced with difficult things in life my Mom always said "Just do it and get through it".

I'd have saved myself a lot of grief had I taken the advice of my parents and those who had my best interests at heart.
Like Sonny and Collette, I/we fell for the lure of easy money -- most recently in the guise of a generous home equity loan; far more than what we needed. *Sigh* Debt-free definitely feels better!

Your P.S. made me laugh out loud. I need that embroidered on a sampler!

I take a lot of advice that shouldn’t and should rely on my own self. You are right though. It’s easier to give advice to others.

I agree. being debt free is always better. I've lived that way since I retired and have learned a lot about budgets and how they work. If I don't have the cash I don't buy anything. Simple as that. I always appreciate good advice by those that know more than I do, but I also have a mind of my own and can determine good over the bad. Not all advice is worth following. About the worrying, I always figure it's better to spend the time praying. Worry is a waste of time.
