Memorable Automobiles from The Past:
For today:
I have NEVER appreciated
the over the counter pain meds: Aspirin, Vitamin I, etc. Mostly I have had a high pain
tolerance and as long as it was a day or two, I normally took nothing; and when
I did I never noticed any help.
We learned that term ‘vitamin
I’ on the Appalachian Trail. Hikers would take Ibuprofen fairly regularly and
it became vitamin I.
Once Sherry’s heels
hurt so bad we stopped and made camp and stayed 2-3 days until we had to
move. During that time a couple walked
by and gave Sherry a couple 800mg of ‘Vitamin I.’ She sure appreciated it. This girl keeps me going She is also my 'Vitamin S'.
Anyway I have now
learned that over a period of time those over the counter meds DO WORK. ;-)
It is always good to
learn something, even for thick headed people.

travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until they
open their mouths."

Isn't it curious, what 'works' and what doesn't? I'm sure more apt to take a friend's advice than what's shown on television. We've discovered Tylenol Arthritis Relief provides the best relief without drowsy side effects -- but everyone's different.
One thing that came as a shock: The surgeon's nurse said he could have Tylenol for pain ..... but absolutely NO Aleve for one year following his surgery.
I wondered what Vitamin I was, lol. I hadn't heard ibuprofen referred to as that before, but essential at times for pain relief! I had to take some the other day for some pain I was having. I was surprised how quick it worked and how the pain was relieved enough it hasn't come back yet!
betty
My doctor once gave me a bottle of vitamin pills because I was very weak. When I got home I was too weak to open the bottle. So I had to go all the way back for the doctor to open the bottle for me.
He suggested I drink a pint of stout beer (Guinness) every day for strength. I got the brewery to deliver a huge barrel which they placed in the kitchen and every day I drank a pint. It worked a treat. When they delivered the barrel it took two men to carry it in. By the end of the month I could lift it all by myself.
God bless.
Tylenol is not effective for my neurological (migraine related) pain. Advil is far more effective. My Dr. want Tylenol.
What is effective are CBD oils and creams. Try it.
Today I took some time off and caught up with y'all's doins.
Read about 6 back posts and loved all the photos. Vitamin I, commentary etc! My ulcer Doctor recommended Advil "Liqui-Gels" [solubilzed Ibuprofen capsules]] seems to help. I had developed a Baker's cyst behind my left knee and the orthopedist took an X-ray and gave me a steriod shot a couple of months ago. So far, good outcome, but he showed me the "gray area" between the thigh bone and knee was likely to mean knee replacement. UGH! I survived the cataract surgery, all those dang drops are done! My local optometrist gave me the all clear and my glasses are supposed to be here this week.....just cannot wait to see to read!!! Love and hugs from Chobee, Glenda
