Are Politics funny or what?

Politics are not always funny over the world. Because they sometimes turn deadly, according to who is in charge of a country. There have been millions who died because the wrong man was put in charge by politics. So in many countries politics are NOT laughable. That said, and I am serious, Politics? Yes, in the USA, sometimes it is laughable!

To start with, this country has a different legacy than most in the OLD country. I do thank God that the men who founded and fought for this country were level headed, intelligent men. They wrote a constitution that has held us as basically FREE people. WE support that constitution as do probably 95% of the politicians we elect.

I think I am objective, so do you. So does your neighbor and mine. We all look at the same thing and come up with different conclusions. Now for some reason I would like everyone to agree with me, so do you. BUT the basic thing here in the USA is that, YOU AND I ARE FREE!

Oh yeah, I know there are taxes, and laws that must be obeyed, but if we are to have roads and schools etc, we realize we must pay for them. So we are not that free that we can go about using everything supplied by the government without paying, so we pay to be free. FREEDOM costs.
I have not lived as long as some, but I have lived longer than most. As a kid I was introduced to Politics early. My dad was a preacher. When we moved to a new church one of the first things he would say to the congregation, “Now about politics, I am whatever you are, please remember that, You are a Republican I am too, if you are a Democrat? I am a Democrat also!” In all my life I never knew what my daddy was, but back then I guessed he was a Southern Democrat, but that was a guess.

In my opinion NO ONE MAN can destroy this nation. We vote him in, if he is terrible, he quits or we vote him out. IF we don’t vote him out he can only stay there 8 years.
Tomorrow? I have decided to do History.
Thanks for coming this way to waste your time.

Yes Jack, we do live in a country that is truly far better than many. Maybe not perfect for many of us but we can speak what we feel, or think and if we are wrong in doing that , we don't get locked up or hopefully not killed. Times are not as simple as when I was a child and even when my kids were little. I am grateful to live in the USA regardless. I liked this post of yours.

Jack, it's never a waste of time to read your shipslog! You always give us a thought-provoking discussion. If I disagree with you I hope to do it in an agreeable way. Your Dad's statements were definitely political ones - but were designed to say he cared about everybody. Maybe I'll get the chance to tell you one of my political blunders from the pulpit someday. :D Who? Me? A Blunder? LoL and ROFL!

JACK, I DO NOT LIKE THE TREND THAT THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION SEEMS TO BE TAKING.

THIS TREND IS NOT WHAT WAS PROMISED DURING MR. OBAMA'S CAMPAIGN SPEECHES.

WE CERTAINLY HAVE A LOT OF CORRECTIONS TO MAKE IF THE AMERICAN WAY WE HAVE KNOWN SURVIVES, BEING SO DEEP IN DEBT WITH INTEREST NOW IN BILLIONS.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE EXCEPT OF COURSE FOR THOSE THAT ARE CELEBRATING 'HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN'. sam

Jack, my friend, I agree that we are FREE but it sure is coming at a cost...it depresses me, I guess that's why its called DEPRESSION. Sad, but true.

Debts and taxes, Grief and woe,
Pains and misery and so it goes,
I think I'm getting a co'd in my no'd,
Life gets tasteless, don't it?
( from part of a poem ol Minnie Pearl used to recite on The Grand Ol Oprey )
Things just haven't changed, have they.

Bless Your Heart Jack
and a smile for you and your sweet Sherry

I know we are the Greatest Country, we have our freedom, beautiful scenery. We are not put in jail for speaking our mind. If that was
a law Lucy and I would stay in jail. To know
us is to love us.
