Beignets and Chickory Coffee at the Cafe Du Monde.
Beignets (B'nays) and chickory coffee on DecatorStreet at the Cafe du monde in the French quarter. a ritual every four or five years for us. Above the waiters and watiresses go buy what you order, then come back and collect from you.
The above is actually our second order. Today I set a record, I ate five and Sherry set a record and ate four. a delicious deep fried pastry covered with a half cup of powdered Sugar.
Our first cup of coffee (the above is the first order) and pastry the coffee was BLACK the way we love it. The second the lady misunderstood and we got Fred's Coffee au lait, by mistake. ha!
We walked the French market with white powdered sugar all over my black jeans. hahahaha!
As we walked a helocopter kept circling, we found out as we walked in the Quarter that there were streets we could not go on.
The Swat teams were out in force. Someone told us that the President of Israel and Joe Biden were in town (Who is Joe Biden?, I asked)
I love the street entertainers you find in New Orleans and in San Francisco at the Fisherman's warf. This Silver guy across across the street was being a Mime part time and singing Elvis's songs the other. He stood on a crate and also made it dance. What a festive atmosphere.
Leaving the Quarter (to pay our $10 parking fee) Sherry took this photo of one of the many fountains in the Quarter along the Mississippi River. One other thing. I was standing against a building, staring across the street at Bubba Gumps place when a lady stopped in front of me reached for my beard, and I moved. She screamed "This one is alive!" We all good a good laugh, but I began to wonder, do I look dead?
And asusual I see some one I know or have heard of, Here is John, waiting for Paula to get through feeding the local turtles.
I lost a few photos, but I hope at least this posts. I have to do all of this with the pictures in HTML, does everyone else? It is sure confusing to me.
We are back home now, had my fix of Nawlins Beighet's and Chickory coffee for another few years.
Thanks for going along,
Nite Shipslog

hmmm, looks yummy!that fried thing with powdered sugar must be so tasty...
I can't believe how much the two of you ate.
I don't want to hear about you need to walk.
Like your joke said your body and fat will
become good friends. You know my friend lived
in Nawlins on the street where Al Hurt lived.
She loved Nawlins. The entertainment is always
good. Glad you got your fix of Beighets' and
Chickory Coffee.

We were at Cafe du Monde last night. Glad you left some beignets for us.
Looks like you all had a grand time! Love that Cafe du Monde. So Ben and Joe had streets blocked off all for themselves did they? ☻ ☻ ☻ What wonderful memories today - of the street entertainers, artists, and other colorful people one meets in and around the French Market and the end of Canal street at the riverfront. Thanks for the fun!
How do you keep from getting fat???? I would have outdone you an everything ,they look so yummy.
