Just two good stories:

littleBoy

Author and lecturer Leo  Buscaglia once
Talked about a contest he was asked to  judge.
The purpose of the
Contest was to  find the most caring child.
    The  winners were:
A four-year-old child, whose  next door
neighbor was an elderly gentleman, who had  recently lost his
wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little  boy went into the old
Gentleman's' yard, climbed onto his  lap, and just sat there.
When his mother asked  him what he had
said to the neighbor, the little boy just  said, 'Nothing, I just
Helped him  cry.'

********************************************

An  eye witness account from New York
City , on a cold day in  December,
some years ago: A little  boy,
about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store  on the
roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and  shivering
With cold.
A lady  approached the young boy and said,
'My, but you're in  such deep thought staring in that window!'
'I was  asking God to give me a pair of
shoes,'
was the boy's  reply.
The lady took him by the hand,  went into
the store, and asked the clerk to get half  a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he  could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly  brought them to her.
She took the little fellow  to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves,  knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them  with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had  returned with
the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's  feet, she purchased him a pair of  shoes..      She tied up  the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him.. She  patted him on the head and said, 'No
doubt, you will be  more comfortable now.'

As she turned  to go, the astonished kid
caught her by the hand, and  looking up into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked  her.
'Are you God's  wife?'

Thanks for coming by the log.  We spent today at the VA hospital getting my hearing aids adjusted. I had a great lady doctor. She confirms,’I AM DEAF!’. (NEWS) but she did manage to get me up to 30% with these hearing aids.

Done some blood work and talked to a Dr. and got some ‘Simfastatin’ for my bad cholesterol. Now I am officially on medication, first time in my life.

PS:

When you were a kid, could your dad or anyone in the family, do that trick of removing his thumb and putting it back on??

Look out more pills are sure to follow, but I hope not in your case. Wish John would wear hearing aids.

I wish you well with your newfound ' improved ' hearing. Bill is seeing better, don't recall if I shared that yet. He doesn't think so but all the tests indicate a great improvement.
A statin drug huh? Mom says No way would she Ever take a statin drug...I started to take Ginko Bilova to enhance my memory...hmmm, still can't remember why Mom is so against statins. Stay safe, if they are meant to work for you, God will see to it you stay healthy.
Failing eyesight, hearing, disagreeable numbers, like Dad used to say, "The only thing Golden about the Golden years is my pee."

OH, about the two stories, they are absolutely breathtaking. BlessTheirLittleHearts Children are so innocent and pure, aren't they?

Sorry about having the pills. We are going to be on them if we don't start eating better and more low fat. We eat what we want and we are going to pay for it.

Well, I guess Sherry is glad the hearing aids are adjusted? "Can you hear me now"? lol

Take care, be good, and ya'll have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I had heard the second story, but not the first; both touching!!! Hoping the adjustment with the hearing aid does help more with your hearing! It was a good thing you got on the medicine and what an accomplishment that you lasted until your age to get on one!! These days that really is a feat!!

Both of those stories are good ones and they do well to remind us all of what we too can do to help others around us. Even if we don't have money a hug is always a great gift. Glad you are 30% better now than you were. Hope the medication does it's job and that there are no bad side effects either. You've done very well to keep off meds till this point in your life. I'm not taking any thing yet, but then I don't see doctors much either. Take care and have a terrific Tuesday!

Yeah, the medication trail is rough, but the not living thing...well, you couldn't write any more books, ya know? So take those meds in a timely fashion :-). ~Mary
