Webster Flea Market on Monday

There is a huge flea market in a very small town called Webster just South of here. Today is Webster day. So we are heading out with Don & Evelyn.
Traveling and living as we do we are always looking for better communications, especially connection to the internet. Presently we use a UM-150 receiver from Verizon. It works pretty well, but we cannot download big files. Articles or e-mails that contain movies are very slow so most time we cannot download them. We try one everyonce in awhile, sometimes the estimated time is 8 hours and more. Naturally this thing would not hang onto the net for that long.

I see ads about the dish internet, I am just wondering the cost and who does it and the coverage? I guess since I am thinking about it I will stop and do a search. All I have done so far is download some e-mail ads but they do not give cost, etc. Does anyone out there use ‘Dish internet’ by any chance?

I just checked two of them, still out of our range and a lot of customer complaints. I would have to get in contact personally because it is set up on a zip code basis. Since our ZIP changes weekly sometimes daily we fall under a different umbrella if at all. Some folk will not service an RV because we are such Nomads and Gypsies. Hahahahaha! Hard to track us down if we don’t pay I guess.

Truth is, most communications are affected by all this moving around.
But the hardships aren’t so bad that we would stop this life style. I am certain that we will settle down, if we live long enough. We are still in our early 70’s and there are plenty of folk who drive into their 80’s. I hope we can do that.

I am beat for all the walking. I got two peelers (guaranteed for 5 years, if I send $3 shipping chgs, ha!). I got some anchor rope for the boat anchor. Some wallet inserts for cc and id cards. I also found a Jack Higgins I had not read. Sherry got some anti flea stuff for MJ, some bananas and tomatoes.

Thanks for coming by the log. I know you have a lot more you could be doing, but thanks.

I have the same internet service and have the same problems sometimes. Sometimes it is great too. If you ever discover anything better and reasonable you'll have to let me know. For now I'm happy most of the time. I guess you must be feeling better since you all got out to the market. I hope so.

I never heard of Dish Internet (Dish TV but not Internet). Sounds interesting. My son has something from Verizon (probably similar to what you have) that he can access the internet no matter where, but I'll have to ask him if he has trouble with downloads (not sure if he even tries to download things...)

I like walking around flea markets, always fun to see what is being sold and what I "can't live without" but usually manage not to buy (too) much :)

Jack, the only internet connection I've had experience with is cable - so I cannot help you much. However, I am interested in the possibilities. I'll keep watching your blog and hopefully someone will have experience with satellite reception versus the wifi type connection that you are now using.

I've only had cable too, except for once in Washington I tried DSL for a short while. Hope someone has some answers for you. Take care, Sheila

We had dish internet in Coker Creek before DSL. We still have the dish, if you want it.
There's a guy in Coker Creek who specializes in installing satellite dishes and also gives guaranteed to find gold panning tours. Would you like his contact info?
