New renters! (and coffee)

Sherry noticed the hummingbird feeder was empty, do I filled it.  Not long after that the thing fell apart and sweet water was all over the deck so I hooked up the hose and washed it down.

We brewed fresh coffee, I make it strong, had tow pieces of Evelyn’s pound cake left and Sherry thawed it out. While enjoying  the coffee and delicious cake, I noticed a blue bird getting closer and closer. it never got closer than the power line behind the motor home.

I thought for sure it was wanting the water puddled on the deck, so we finally gave up and came inside to see what it would do. Sherry said it is sitting at the bird house looking around. I just got to the bedroom window, the blue bird looked around a couple times then slipped inside.  Wow, new renters!  It is the same house the Chickadees used.  But for a fact the Blue bird is more wary of us.  Maybe it will get used to us being around. I think if we sit on the Swing we won’t bother it too much.  This is neat, I have missed the other birds.

I mentioned coffee, I am not a judge of coffee. If you have ever been a sailor, you know all it needs to be is colored, preferably dark, but hot is the main ingredient, especially if you have a weather deck watch on a cold night.

My girl is the coffee expert. We got used to Java Joe or Joe java last year at the hospital.  I think I am getting the taste of good coffee. When I make coffee I use about twice the amount they recommend.  Also Sherry was buying the 1/2 and 1/2 blend for Caffeine.  I talked her into buying a pound of each and mixing it.

One of these days I will have the nerve to order some from the ‘Holy Cow Coffee Company’, I am thinking about the ‘Frog Fuel’.  I keep putting it off. Maybe I will do it Monday night. I think I will, while we have an address for them to mail it to.

Are you a Coffee connoisseur?  What kind? Or how do you make it?

Thanks for coming this way.

I drink tea. But my hubby is a coffee connoisseur. He HATES a bad cup of coffee. For years he used to mix beans to make his own special blend of fresh brewed. But since he is the only one drinking it, felt he was wasting his money. Nowadays he is crazy about his Keurig Coffee maker. He got it a while back on a doorbuster sale at Christmas. Take care.

For years I had gallons of coffee until I thought it might be better to stop, ever since enjoy much tea.

I drink 8 O'clock-Hazel nut. It
is very good. I like Cappuccino.

I hope the new renters are happy
and stay for awhile. Maybe they
will raise their family there.
I hope they want have wild parties
and keep you awake all night.
They probably will want free food.
Hope they are good neighbors.

Ever since last Christmas when I got one of those k cup coffee machines that makes one cup at a time I've been enjoying a lot of different flavors. From french vanilla to wild mountain blueberry. I even have some of the coffee house flavors. It makes a great cup of coffee. I like the variety and usually start every day off with something different. Later on in the day I switch to my sweet iced tea. Glad your birdhouse is being used. Ours has sat empty this year so far.

We tend to like strong coffee, a dark roast; I make it a 2:1 mixture, 2 cups of water for every one scoop of coffee. How fun to get the new renters for the birdhouse; hoping you'll get a chance to see the babies down the road!

I've never drunk coffee. None, zilch, nada. I do like the way it smells though.
Maybe I should take up the habit. It is supposed to have some properties that help protect against diabetes which runs in my family.
Glad your bluebirds are renting. A black snake got my baby bluebirds in birdhouse in the back yard. The parents hatched a second brood in the birdhouse in front. I hope they made it. I think Mama bird is on her third brood now. I love to watch the bluebirds.

We love our birds..

As far as coffee, I love it and it needs to be non-freeze dried. I personally like the dark roast and put in 5-6 scoops in the grinder.

We buy the cheapest we can get. Coffee is so high here. I hate instant but Joe likes it. He can drink a whole pot and I am good with a morning cup and an evening cup. I don't like the flavored and glad I don't. That is even more expensive.

So hope the bluebirds stay there for you.

I love one good strong cup of java in the morning. We use Paul Newman's organic blend.

I am not sure if I could drink it as strong as you do.
