Apology shot down!

Ever apologize? Most of us have.  Most of us have apologized for something even if we did not feel it was our fault.  In my book, ‘Why Not Forever’ I opinioned that in a marriage, the one who seems to love most (at the moment)will be the first to apologize.  Humans do that to de-fuse an explosive situation. Knowing if something festers, things get worse.

Have you ever had an apology that was a sort of back door apology, you know the kind, “I’m sorry, but if you hadn’t -----------, then I would not have called you that name, etc.”  In other words it is all you fault anyway.

The right way to apologize is, “I am very sorry, I should not have said or done ------. Forgive me.”

Friend Kevin Wallace published the following poem in the last couple days.

Kevin can write cheerful and some heart breaking stuff. He expresses how it feels when an apology goes wrong

I enjoy poetry sometimes, my friend Kevin just published this. He expresses a lot of deep thoughts that many have felt but are unable to put into words.

I Don't Accept Your Apology

I don't accept your apology.
It wasn't at all sincere -
with a smirk, and a laugh,
and a heart cold and
to the hurt you've made me feel,
the pain you've left in my heart.

I don't accept your apology.
And, honestly,
I think it's time for you to leave.
Walk out into the cold rain
as it washes the grime down the city streets
outside of my apartment.

Shiver as a drop of rain drips down your back.

Hear the thunder follow a flash of lightning

as you slowly realize things will never be the same.

This poem © Kevin Walker. Published May 2013.

My 7th grade teacher Ms. Mellissa Grill introduced me to poetry, some of my favorite lines are the same as a lot of folk:

“Miles to go before I sleep…..”

“And I, I took the road less traveled by, and that has made……….”

“Let me live in my house by the side of the road and be a friend………”

“It takes a heap-o-livin in a house to make a home…….”

Do you have a favorite poet, poem, or line?

Wow, when did motor homes get so fancy. What is Frog stew. It can not be real frog is it? I just remembered someone cooking frog legs in a frying pan and they kept moving on their own. I didn't stick around to try it. It is cooler today but still air conditioner time. Turned it on day before yesterday Of course here in Ne. it could snow tomorrow.

Okay I know a copy people that I Would love to send that note too - not my hubby though! lol

And the hero in the book - was a pretty good man who would have apologized and not let it bother him.

This year Andy had to memorize the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere and Charge of the Light Brigade - both two FULL pages each. Like ten stanzas each. So memorizing me - not a good topic now. LOL

Forsythia Chang wrote my favorite poem. LOVE the one you recited.

It was pointed out to me that my apology: I'm sorry you feel that way. ~was very backhanded. I did not think so, but when the other person explained, I understood what he meant, or at least, how he viewed it.

I was always told never to go to bed mad, so apologies were made and usually by me. I love poetry and Helen Steiner Rice is my all time favorite poet. I have many others too, but hers stand out. We had a lovely summer like day here in Ohio yesterday and today may just be another one. I'm ready for it. Hope you all are enjoying some nice weather too!
