Do cow licks go away? Well first of all I guess I should ask: Do you know what a cow lick is? The definitions is:
cow·lick (koulk) n.
A projecting tuft of hair on the head that grows in a different direction from the rest of the hair and will not lie flat.
I remember growing up Mama said I had a cow-lick toward the back of my head. I could ‘grease’ it down. Nephew Stevie, had a cow lick in front, you couldn’t tell it now because he hasn’t had a hair cut in 30-40 years.
And then there was a time everyone wanted a cowlick, This is GS Luke’s School pic in Grade school, now, no more wild hair.
My cowlick is gone permanently, (along with the rest of my hair) but I think it went away after I was 18-19 years old.
I guess the most famous ‘cow-lick’ was on one of the ‘Little Rascals’: Alfalfa
In finding this picture I learned a sad story. Alfalfa (Carl Switzer) never earned anything on all the reruns of OUR GANG. He was killed at the age of 32 trying to collect $50 over a hunting dog incident. What a sad end to a comic’s life. Proving once again to us looking in on life, “Life isn’t always fair!”
Anyway his was the most famous cow-lick I remember.
Ever feel like this:
Oh well, we live life, do the best we can and if we try hard enough, we can be happy. At times though, we would like to out shout some things just to prove we are here!!!
I just got this cow-lick thing on my mind (missing my hair I guess). Thanks for coming by the log.

PS:
Someone said, it is better to have loved and lost, than never have loved at all.
I guess the same could be said for fame, if that is the goal.

I guess girl's can have them too. Because I've got a piece of hair on top of my head that has a mind of it's own.
If my hair is cut real short - it sticks up in the air. Both my grands have cowlicks too! sandie
I think I have a cow lick in the
top of my head where my hair wants
to seperate.
I loved "Our Gang" that was such
a fun program to watch. They were
regular kids back then no phone,
ipods or computers what a simple
wonderful life.
hee hee...
«Louis» never had a cow lick, and he CERTAINLY doesn't now, given that he wears his hair in one of those fashion-forward "reverse mohawks"...
Yes sir I do know what a cow lick is. I go to the same stylist to get my hair cut because she knows how to cut my hair so "IT" doesn't stick up in the spot. Say you're looking at the top of my head and thinking of it as a square (no comments please) I have one on the back corner and if my hair is cut wrong my hair sticks in every direction.
Even I have a cow lick. It has a definite mind of it's own. One of my little grandsons has two in the back of his hair at the crown and one goes one way and the other the other way. Nothing keeps them from sticking up. His dad says a summer hair cut, a buzz, is going to take care of the problem. It's another glorious morning here. Just like summer today! Hope your Monday is off to a great start!
Don has one but he has tamed it. I sort of like it untamed. I think he is just happy he HAS hair in his 50s.
