There is a lot of enjoyment in participating on facebook. Sherry loves it to keep up with the great grand kids. I go there every once in awhile when I feel the need.
The games do not interest me, but seem to be very popular with friends.
I think the folks sticking with blogs prefer to write a little, I know I do. It seems to relax me and sometimes gets things off my chest, that bug, bless, help or concern me. Hopefully I can do that without being nasty to anyone.
I know of folks on facebook, who make snide or snarky remarks to friends or acquaintances. Some, that they live to regret. It is definitely a place to say what’s on your mind, if you are not concerned about the fall out. More folks see comments there than will read it on a blog.
I am not very familiar with facebook. sometimes I make my comments in the wrong place. And many times I cannot navigate to where I want to be. But then Facebook is not my choice. HOWEVER, I DO LOVE to see the Great Grand-daughters when Sherry brings them to my attention.
I know we have lost many blogger friends to facebook, I miss them. If the trend continues, I would imagine Blogging will go the way of Journals.
I like to read a little more than a line on facebook. With Blogger friends, it seems in my mind I get to know you better. I frame an image of a friend. And one other thing, and I have said it before, after reading and getting to know folks on the net, I get to wanting to see them in person. When that happens, it is like the ice cream on pie, it is a JOY!
Thanks for reading this stuff, and thanks to you if you comment. If you don’t comment, hey, I love you anyway!

PS:
The ‘internet’ has been a gift to me. My deafness is not a problem with Blogs.

I wish we could get together one Sunday afternoon at some Cruise in, you in the Caddy or Pontiac convertibles and me in a Stud-Hawk. We could be so cool.

Jack I am concerned about blogging too - it is a little more work then face book - but it is so real - you get to meet the person and know them. I am with you on facebook - BUT you know that this is a I have to have things fast generation. Facebook is fast! sandie
I LOVE blogging. I do not do Facebook and have no desire to. But you're right it seems like everyone else does.
hee hee...
When you show up in your Studebaker Hawk, «Louis» would show up in a '56 Packard Caribbean. :-)
Re the Caribbean and the Eldorado: Packard president James Nance arbitrarily chose the number 500 for the Caribbeans produced for 1955. Cadillac sold 3,950 Eldorados...
It seems to me that a lot of people spend more time on facebook then they would a blog. In journals and blogs I have felt some people were a close friend in a way and then they go to facebook and they don't seem to miss me. I'm a social facebook misfit. lol
I'm with you Jack! I prefer the blogs. I hope they continue.
It is fun to read blogs. I don't
write much but it is enjoyable. If we can get intouch with Bill he bought our 56 Stud Hawk so we can meet Louis. That looks like the one we had.
I try to be careful what I say but
would like to say a lot..like you
say most of the time you live
to regret your words. MUM is the word.
I like blogs and Facebook...blogs for art and occasional photos and Facebook because I can keep up with friends who're not into blogging and live 100s (Virginia friends) or 1000s (Arizona friends) of miles away. In the 1990s I had a decent size website with several pages, I'm happy to say that I found, on Facebook, a couple (man and wife) I'd gotten to know through their websites!!! Now I can keep up with them everyday and have gotten to know more about them and their 2 grown daughters and his mother than I ever did on their websites. I'm going to look for you and Sherry on Facebook!
That is the way I feel about Facebook. I plaster my Grandkids pictures all over my Timeline.I have a few faithfuls on there but I am just not very comfortable in there. I don't navigate well in there. I see a quite a few old bloggers in there. Sometimes it gets tiresome getting one liners. I can keep up with my grand kids and greats. I think to that most people are going to other medias and blogging will be out. Blogging is where I have met the nicest people.I do not do games.
I do mostly reading on FB and try not to say things that will be regretted. I do not play any of the games. I haven't blogged in a while and I have put it on private. Got to where everyday some one would put spam in it. Make like they read your blog then put an advertizement in place. I couldn't figure out to block them so I fixed it so they couldn't get in. I still read the blogs some.
I'm not the biggest fan of Facebook but that is where most of my family posts their entries. I'll peek in there a few times a week just to stay in touch.
Blogging is time consuming but does wonders for me to be able to express my feelings.
