The Top Ten

Most of the time I do not find out what they are. Like today, AOL lists the “Top Ten Burgers”, silly me I click on it and it is either a slide show or a video.  Doesn’t anyone write anything anymore?  I don’t have the patience to try to figure what they are saying nor wait for this system to reload with each change of  slides. So I click the little red X.

We have too many out of work reporters trying to win a prize or sell a story. I noticed today there was an entry, “The Ten Ugliest Celebrities.”

But how would you have the gall to decide someone was ‘UGLY’ and post it?

We need more? I saw a “Top ten List” of the ‘Top ten Lists’, I went to it and counted 8?

Okay, I am going to google “Top Ten Songs of all time in the USA”. I have never done this before:

First result: The top all time songs in America are listed in order by the amount of weeks at #1: (Anyone or song I recognize, is in RED)

1. One Sweet Day-  MARIAH CAREY & BOYZ 2 MEN
2. I Will Always Love You  -WHITNEY HOUSTON
3. Candle In The Wind  -ELTON JOHN
4. Macarena  -LOS DEL RIO
5. I'll Make Love To You  -BOYZ 2 MEN
6. We Belong Together  -MARIAH CAREY
7. End Of The Road  -BOYZ 2 MEN
8. The Boy Is Mine  -BRANDY & MONICA
9. Lose Yourself  -EMINEM
10. Yeah! -USHER, LIL JOHN & LUDACRIS

Now that cannot be true, I never heard any of them. Try again:

One more try gotta be someone I know:

Most Listened To Popular Song of All Time:

#1 Candle in the Wind; Elton John; 1997

(Most of the red ones I was smooching Sherry, yeah I remember them)

Now we are getting somewhere, the third list and I have heard 7 of them. Opinions and different filters get different lists. When I was a builder and Sherry would say, ‘they are calling for bad weather’, I would tell her to change channels. LOL Never trust every thing you hear or read. HAHA!

Thanks for stopping by the LOG. (About knowing the songs, I have never been into music, yeah I lived under a rock)

PS:

Everyone of us has an opinion. Many disagreeing opinions, but that does not make them WRONG.

I love lists - but you are right - who the heck makes those and where do they get their information? Are they experts? But they are fun - I put them on my blog too. And your right - where is the written word - I miss seeing words sometimes too.

I like this entry. I agree about lists when you click on something different. I thank you for setting me straight on the frog eyes. I knew that even if someone held a gun to my head I could never eat frog eyes. It is interesting though to come across something like that and read it wrong.

I thought that was downright mean about the ugliest celebrities, too. I agree with you about the songs. LOVE that BLUE car. I want one. LOL

I have found that a lot of times under that video will have writing which I had rather read instead of listen to.

Off-topic, but it has always galled me that a song like Imagine generates many discussions still about Lennon's Peacefulness, while much has been written about his chronic abuse of various young lovers.~Mary

the third list...9 out of 10...the first list 3 and the second list 4...which is pretty good for someone who loves music but is pretty much illiterate when it comes to who sang what when!!! Candle in the Wind hit the big time when Elton John adapted it for Princess Diana when she was killed and Don and I watched the movie The Bodyguard with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner...she sang "I'll Always Love You" to him...he and she were going their separate ways...as indeed Don and I were soon to do...so I remember songs when they impact me emotionally. I think I saw that thing about the 10 ugliest celebrities...what is that all about??? Rude and crude I believe!!! I like that Studebaker Hawk!!

If is hard to understand the today's music. I heard the name Usher last week or I wouldn't even
know that name. I was familiar with
about 3 songs.

I understand the cars.

It does make a difference how you write out what you are googling. One little word makes a difference on the results. I did recognize a few of those songs in the top 10's. I used to be very up on who sang what, but any more I only remember the oldies. I asked a couple of my grand children recently if they didn't have any soft or slow music to play on their iPods. They came up with a country music tune that I liked but I'd never heard it before. We've had 3 days going on 4 now of beautiful weather here and that is music to my ears. Hope you all have a super Saturday!
