Memorable Automobiles from The Past:
I try to
be a middle of the road guy. I try to allow other opinions contrary to mine to
stay with the owner and out of my head. If I say “I HATE, HATE!” Is that an
oxymoron?
I understand someone despising and hating leaders
like Hitler, Mussolini and Idi
Amin. (Idi once had an enemy killed and part of him
cooked for dinner). SO FAR we HAVE NOT had that type of person in leadership in
this country. Some might try to spin it in metaphors, but it is stretching the
truth.
It seems to me that in OUR country some are trying to destroy people
using innuendo, gossip, twisted truths and just plain lies about people they do
not know except from e-mails, weird news or what is called ‘Social Media’ etc. By
spreading this ‘junk’, we have put some influential citizens of our country in
the aforementioned
categories, they are being hated, their lives and families threatened
with death. That is sad and not in keeping with the spirit of our great
country. We have prided ourselves in diversity but in the past few years seems
we NEED to HATE someone to make us feel better.
My daddy was known for saying, “If you must pull someone down to
make yourself look tall, you are pretty small.”
SOOOOO,
I want to live by the Golden Rule as long as I can, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!” I have used old Rodney King’s statement
before, this is a GREAT country, “Can’t we all just get along?” Yeah I
know I am beating a dead horse.

PS: Being
responsible, we should not spread something we do not know. If we say we HATE
someone enough times, some fool will decide they should be killed if they are
that bad…… Oh well..
Now I
can delete the other entries I rejected and have been holding for the right
time. There will not be RIGHT time methinks…

I'm with you, Jack. Why can't we all get along? But sadly we can't because the progressive left wants their way at all cost and don't really want to get in a discussion with anyone that disagrees with them. They rather "cancel" them. So true we don't have a dictator like Hitler and the rest you mentioned and for the most part our country is a great one but our leaders or the "elite" have a different agenda currently for our country than the original forefathers did.
I hope you and Sherry have a nice 4th!

"Love one another as I have loved you."
(I wonder who said that?)
God bless.
Growing up, we were not allowed to even say the word hate or we would be punished. If we did not like something or someone, we could say “dislike or disagree” but then we had to explain why. Usually after the conversation, I had a different view of things.
Happy Fourth!

Ditto what Betty said! I'm sad our Country's so divided right now -- but at the same time, I don't have much faith things are going to change any time soon.
Your father was a very wise man.
Have fun celebrating our independence with your loved ones. We are so fortunate in our USA and even the thought of HATE entering the picture puts such a gray cloud over us. Like God said," Love one another as I have loved you." Thanks Victor for reminding us. It seems too many have forgotten the gifts we've received. God truly has Blessed America. I pray He's not angry with the wayward ones and helps them see clearly.
hugs n' smiles from up north as we look up at celebratory fireworks.
A quote by BooKer T Washington: "I shall let no man belittle my soul by making me hate him."
OOooops!! Sorry about the typo in Booker T's name. These old fingers don't work like they used to.
Very thought-provoking post. I'm in agreement. Sharing a handmade Father's Day card from a friends little girl:
A picture of a big guy with a little person, printed in water color ~ "No matter how tall I get, I'll always look up to you!" Just.Loved.That.Card. Warm hugs, Glenda
