Travel

 Buggies of importance:

For today:

TRAVEL (my favorite subject):

My doctor’s appointment has been rescheduled and now we can plan a trip. WE love the Lancaster, PA area. We enjoy the plays at ‘Sight and Sound’ and have several dear friends in the area. So tentatively we plan to spend a lot of September up that way.

We are looking forward to it. You might say almost ‘crying out loud for a ROAD TRIP!

Our total experience in theatre during our lives has been seeing the ‘outdoor dramas’ and have enjoyed them in many states. I have never experienced ‘Broadway’ and only a couple Las Vegas and Branson shows.

I was not prepared for Sight and Sound. A giant theater with professional actors. Our first trip there was to see NOAH. The play was going on well and the lights were dimmed to dark and a few seconds later the light returned. I was one shocked guy, I felt like I was inside a giant ARK with live animals on decks on the walls around us and the play continued. Yeah we were hooked.

If you enjoy Biblical plays, they are very good. I just checked, the play this year is ‘Queen Esther’, we are looking forward to that.

The side advantage to the Lancaster trip is Miesse Chocolate Company. In business since 1875. Tracy Artus, a good friend’s daughter bought the company a few years ago. Chocolate with no preservatives added and delicious.

A side treat besides our dear friends is the surrounding Amish country. It may be too late to enjoy the fresh corn, but just seeing the beautiful country, dotted by so many wagons and buggies pulled by beautiful trotting horses, is a thrill.

Hey we will stop in Virginia then come by here to say goodbye to our family, close this house here, and head to Florida, life is good!

Esther's story is a good one in the Bible so I imagine the play of it will be equally as good! Seems like you both have a good plan for your road trip and then subsequently down the line. Enjoy!

Good for you both. Enjoy life! Isn't that what it's all about? The play NOAH sounded awesome!

I remember seeing the play "NOAH" in Venice. The place was flooded!

Why is it women like shoes and chocolates so much. I once bought my girl-friend a pair of shoes - made of chocolate. That confused her.

I liked today's post. Thanx. God bless.

Your trip sounds delightful! I'd love to see that part of the country once more. Never before have I heard about those Sight and Sound theatres. I doubt there's any nearby, but I'm going to do a Google search, just in case.
Have a super Sunday!

It's exciting to plan a vacation especially to a place you know and love. We have an Amish country here too not so very fare away and I love to go there. Lots of good food for sure ! I know you love to travel and see the sights from your front window. Enjoy !

You'll be on the road again and once more, to a place you both love. Some of the best breads, rolls and flowers we've ever had, have been from the Amish bakers and greenhouses. They also grow some of the best produce. Enjoy the corn on the cob, I don't think you'll be too late. Safe travels to you.
loven'hugs from up north where our corn won't be ready until fall...hmmmm

Safe travels! So much fun for all of you. Oh the Sights and Sounds theater sounds wonderful. I love anything that entertains me, play, live shows, comedy but I love the story of Esther in the bible so that would be something to see. We visited our youngest daughter and her husband in Western NY last year and we visited the Amish. What delightful people. A few friends have said if you get the chance to go to Noah;s Ark in Kentucky. They say it is the exact specificiations that are written in the bible. They said it was not to be missed. Thanks for all the great sharing here. I hope you have a terrific trip.
