Looking forward>> 2014!>WOW

What do you think of 2044? That is only 30 years from now.  I have grand children who are saying that is a ‘million’ years away (mentally).  Now I want to fall back for just a second. Picture 1984.

(This 1984 Ford was a brand new car then)

Now honestly did you for one minute sit down and think, “I wonder what I will be doing in 2014?”

Of course not, but here we are. Still alive, although I never thought I would be. But now that I am here, what do I think?  I still think life is good, I always have. I like calm ‘excitement’(I know that is a contradiction in terms). I mean getting excited of small stuff as compared to a ‘roller coaster’. (I have ridden one maybe two). My heart races at the sight of my grand kids, even the one 31 years old.

I get excited thinking of seeing a place I have never seen. Shucks I get excited at seeing some of the places we have already seen, like New Orleans and San Antonio. Oh, and my face smiles thinking about the north east and a lobster pound.

Calm ‘excitement’ to me is seeing a 1939 Ford on a trailer that some guy is proud of.

I get more excited seeing an antique on the road:

Forest Lake 003

I believe this was a 1941 Chevy Coupe with a very young couple driving.

I know you think my entire life is in Antique cars but it isn’t.  I am not that knowledgeable, but I remember the ones of my youth.

I love the old song, “I wish I was 18 Again”  (Going where I’ve never been!). Sadly, the only ones I have ever heard sing that song have passed. One line said, “I will never again turn the young girls heads or run fast  like the wind”.  Old folk know that, but we do what we can.

My pallet is excited, I bought some cherry tomatoes. Now I have sitting beside me cherry tomatoes, celery and carrots. I love raw veggies to munch on, I don’t do it enough. Oh, I forgot to mention the Triscuits, I have ‘Fire roasted tomato and olive oil’ flavor.

Until I was grown, I had never heard the term Cherry, Plum or salad’ tomato.  Growing up mama called them ‘Tommy Toes’, so that is what they were, my mama was never wrong!

PS:

I make resolutions.  I have used the same one for the past 4 years. Imma going to lose “FOR GOOD”, that 10 pounds I lost and found again this past year.

YEP sadly true

I am going to quit playing around and really enjoy life, that roll is getting faster every year.

I intend to laugh a LOT!

And do silly stuff:

Come to think of it, raw veggies sounds pretty good right about now!
Careful, or that term, "calm excitement" might just catch on, Jack..... I like it. A lot.
Maybe, probably on account I'm realizing how very short is this spin around the sun.
Heretofore, I've poked fun at myself by admitting, "I get excited over little things."
Calm excitement sounds, I don't know, more weighty? Might cause another soul to pause and ponder!

..Then again, I think there's a box of Triscuits in the panty that need checked for freshness.
:)

Have a great eve,

Myra

I like that type of Triscuits, Jack. They are tasty! If you eat a lot of raw veggies and a few Triscuits in the next year, you will certainly do your goal of losing those pesky 10 pounds!

I have stopped making New Years
Resolutions because I forget the ones I made. I like what Phil
Harris use to say. "If I had
known I would have lived this long
I would have taken better care of myself". Nothing I can do now but
do the best I can from now on.
When we were young old people don't know what they are talking about and now I am one..

Calm Excitement! Describes me to a tee. You know I won't slide down that hill on a piece of cardboard. I'm just wishing I could.

Until reading this I've never heard small tomatoes referred to as "Tommy Toes." But I'll be using that from now on:) Do you have any idea why they were called that?

That toilet paper roll says it all for «Louis». He had a rough close to the year. Glad its gone...

Here's your bathtub Nash.
That has to be the single ugliest car ever built until Toyota came up with this mess. You have to wonder 2 things:
1) What mind-altering chemical were the stylists on when they did this
and
2) What mind-altering drug was Toyota management on when they approved this beast for production.

Triskets used to be one of my favorite things and I've not had any in a long time...Thanks for the reminder...I'll need to get some soon. It's so true the closer you get to end of the toilet paper the faster it goes...Happy New Years Day to you both. Love from snowy and cold Ohio!

Two things for me to look forward to this year. My 2nd great grandchild and my best friend since 7th grade is getting married. She lost her beloved husband 5 years ago and is starting her life over again at age 68. I am so excited for her. She met him on Match.com! (4 years ago) I like him a lot. Last year I had multiple blessings with my first grandson getting married, my daughter getting remarried (after getting her heart broken a few years ago)She met him on Match.com too! I just love him! And my first great grandchild was born. So, many blessings in my life and I wish the same for you. Happy New Year!
