Do you talk to yourself? I mean do you sometimes say to yourself, I am going to do this more often? There are times like sitting by a stream or waterfall, I say to myself, I am going to relax like this more often.
One of the times I do that is at a funeral. Our family is not a tight knit family. We did have a family reunion once upon a time, but they fizzled out. But we do get together at funerals. I ALWAYS say, I am going to visit my kin, and not just at funerals.
I mean it, but I just do not do it. Some of my first cousins I am close to and I should visit, but I do not.
Sonny’s Funeral. Nephew Tommy Malone’s family sang accapella so beautifully at the graveside
Another time is when I really clean up our car. I feel so good about it that I usually say to myself, this isn‘t much work, I am going to keep it this clean, but do I do it? NO! It is dirty right now, but it is too cold to wash it, etc….
I didn’t have to worry about that in GITMO, we were not allowed to use water from your faucets to wash your car. some folk saved the water that dripped from the A/C’s, but not me.
(Our first house in GITMO, no a/c from which to catch the water)
I change the oil in our vehicles, but I am not religious with it. Our little car is over due now, and I will get to it.
Employment application blanks always ask who is to be notified in case of an emergency. I shoulda written, 'A Good Doctor!'
Oh a side note. I was recently bombed with about 20 Porn site notices with some VERY graphic pictures on my blogger dashboard. Has that happened to you? I think Lucy had that problem for awhile,
Anyway, I do promise myself to do things many times, and I forget the promises soon after the event that keyed the promise.
I know you are tired of this rambling, so I’m outa here.
Nite Shipslog
PS:
I am very good about keeping promises to others, I think I will make an effort to keep promises to myself.

I think this is from Czechoslovakia, 1939
I'm hoping God grades on the curve.

I always enjoy your post! I am guilty of all these things as well!
Yes, I do that to. Always saying I'm going to do that next time. Seems I have short memory and don't think of it till the next time it comes up. I haven't been bombarded by anything unusual on my dashboard. Sure hope I don't . Glad you are some warmer there, we are in the mid 30's here. It feels so good to be out of the deep freeze.
I'm one that don't visit, but all the time telling myself I will. I think most people have been this way, lol. It doesn't seem like it has been that long since Sonny passed away. Time sure do pass to fast. It's warmer up here today, but still ice on the ground. Take care.
I guess I fall in the same category.
Out of sight out of mind. I even
forget what I said I would do.
I guess that's like the Frank
Sinatra song I keep singing
"That Life".
I wish John would talk to himself and say he is going to wash his car. Our family (not my girls, we're close) are not close either. I have cousins I haven't seen in years and they don't live that far away. Years ago we got together on Christmas and then as everyone grew up and got married that fell by the wayside. I'm getting a lot of spam trying to sell me things in e-mail but not on Dashboard and hope I don't.
uh huh...
The Vachemobile is due for an oil change, too... AND it needs a bath...
«Louis» doesn't recognize that red car. The lines flowing from the radiator back to the cowl are nice - it speaks of speed and streamlining.
I think we are all like that to some degree. But I will never forget to snow dance. :-D . I'm glad Shirl got her some new dancing shoes, they work goooood! I would get me some but we might cause the whole world to freeze...ha. Love from NC, Sheila
I hope it is because we are human - I do the same thing. I feel good after I do things and I swear I am going to do it again and then I don't.
My heart is right - but I guess the spirit weak.

One thing I don't have to worry about with the car, LOL, is that son details our cars weekly or every other week so our cars pretty much always look nice. With his work, he has learned that if you keep it up that often, it takes less time to get it done :)
I am guilty of seeing someone I haven't seen in a while and say "we must do this again" and then not orchestrate anything again. I guess it is that old adage "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
betty
Chuckled about the GOOD DOCTOR comment on applications for emergencies. Great idea.
I did have a problem on my dashboard. Finally shook them loose. I talk to myself most of the time. I think I am talking t Joe and I look around for him and he is not there, so I say "oh, your not there" and then direct the conversation to Spunky. BEHAVE, JACK.
