Long drive, but back in Florida

Trucks of Art
 The beautiful 1940 Ford Pickup!

Now:
We are back in Florida. Beautiful driving weather, but we did get a down pour here at Deltona just after we arrived. Looking forward to 2-4 weeks of relaxed ‘vacation’.  I might just continue some chain saw carving.

At least there will be no coach problems and it looks like we will get some time in walking. We both have that few pounds we really want off, but have not had the determination to do it yet.  I make a ‘great’ tomato basil soup. It is the consistency of ‘Campbells’ but much better in our opinion.  I suggested we try eating eggs for breakfast and my soup the rest of the day for 4-5 days to see if we can actually accomplish the weight loss. If there is a noticeable drop, then eat a good meal and give it another shot.

Our friend Lisa of “Life Away From the Office Chair”, is a success story of Nutri Systems (losing 50 lbs and keeping it off). There are other success stories here, like ‘Betty’ of ‘A Bench With a View’. (She posted it.) So using these ‘sweet and true’ examples I hope we can do it. If we cannot I won’t say another thing here. It will be a continuing secret. LOL

Of course neither one of us has ever been ‘much’ over weight, I reached 180 once, I am now 158’ but I know would feel better (about myself) if I were 150.

Betty had a good one on tonight,

Thanks for the shout out x2 Jack! It is easier to get the weight off if you are only up a few pounds and I know you and Sherry can do it. Your "diet" of eggs and soup sounds like a good one to do too for those few days and I bet you'll notice a change in your weights. Now that summer is approaching it might be more walks and more outside time; that's a good way to drop the weight too. And then that is that pesty thing with metabolism when it slows down as we age, not that you and Sherry are aging :)

Thanks for the shout out! Your too sweet. Its harder to lose 10 lbs than it is to lose 50 . You can do it though. But remember, what might work for some may not work for others. I think the key to any diet is portion control meals and lots of veggies and water. Moderate exercise is all you need. Ive seen you two on pictures and you both look great!

Heading to work

Glad you are safely back in Florida and had good weather to travel in. Tomato basil soup sounds wonderful and I do like leftovers to heat up again, but after 4 days I'm sure you'll be ready for something else. I've maintained the same weight for several years. I eat what I want and do just about the same things every day, so I'm happy, but I am not thin. As long as the clothes fit, I'm happy with what I am. I hope you al reach your goals and do take time to rest and relax. You need time out after the days you've gone through.

I have lost a lot of weight, on one of my last visits to Hospital about 2 years ago I was TOLD some weight had to come off, I was up to 275- 280 pounds, The only thing that has worked is we have our biggest meal at noon. I have managed to get down to 198 pounds, sadly clothes no longer fit, My Honey also lost weight !! I hope you shed those pounds with some diet and walking which I am sure you will ! Take it easy you 2 and enjoy your Vacation ! Gary & Anna Mae

I'm too embarrassed to post my weight (or Tom's)! I'm having so much fun being retired, the normal 'regime' has taken a back-seat … hence, there's a lot of yo-yo dieting going on. I think Ma's is a winning philosophy, for sure!

Don't even want to go there with diet, I was a size 4 and 128 lbs 18 months ago, then quit a cig habit and gained 22, feel like a little washtub, but it is what it is :) IMO, neither of you needs to lose weight, you'll lean up those bods when you get back to a "normal" life, best of luck, I want some soup, sounds delish!!!

Our lunchtime go to is always homemade soups and/or salads. We work so hard year round, eat too much comfort food, put on the lbs, and then burn it off when and how we can. It gets harder the older we get. You two are already toothpicks. Careful! I guess as long as we eat healthy and stay somewhat active, we are A-OK. It is what it is. I've never looked at sizes but rather how I feel. The doc said I lost another 3 lbs, and have kept it off...good enough for me. I love making tomato basil soup....one of our favorites.
love n' hugs from up north where we pulled 30 inches of snow off the cabin roof today...WOOOOSH!!!!! and loud.
