… Memorable car of the day:
For today:
1.
Sherry
and I have both been employed most of our lives. As a whole we have enjoyed our
work; we both have had one job that we were ‘uncomfortable in’, mine was
because of a ‘micro-managing boss’ hers was more due to the nature of the job.
She had a job locating “lost or incomplete ‘parts’ orders” for aircraft. Some
she could never ‘solve’ she likes things tidy or solved.
2.
Maintenance
Free. We hear that a lot. No home is
maintenance free. However, I always considered Brick as tops for maintenance
free. I built a few brick homes. Early in my life I watched a huge church being
built, I love the appearance of the brick they had chosen. Then one day I drove
by and it had been painted white! It looked very good of course, but I thought,
DO they realize in 15-25 years the expense of repainting something that large?
Those brick are good for hundreds of years. I mentioned this because someone
told me a few days ago one of the favorite brick homes I had built had been
painted, it hurt my feelings. LOL
3.
Exercise? Do you have a regular routine? We seniors are told we should walk, and we
try, but my regular exercises have fallen by the way side and I think I can
tell it. At present walking is about our only exercise. WE try to do a mile a
day, but even fail that, at times.

Bad
news: In this very park about 10 yrs ago, our friend Evelyn was bringing Sherry
a piece of chocolate cake, she fell breaking her hip. She called Sherry just a
day or so ago to tell her that she had fallen up in North Carolina, tripping
over a hose, and had broken the other hip. OUCH (Please say a prayer for EVELYN
AND HUBBY DON!)

PS: Concerning SOME old
people:
“I’m 85 and my body is full of aches and pains.” Said He #1
“Well, I’m 85 and I feel like a newborn baby.” Said He #2
“Really?”
Replied He #1
Frowning slightly He #2 quietly said, “Yep, no teeth, no hair, and I just wet my
pants.”
You must be there to
appreciate Depends! ;-)

Oh noooo, on Evelyn's fall! Prayers lifted for both she and Don.
Just ask Tom: Anytime we're watching these 'home improvement' shows on HGTV and they get to painting/whitewashing the existing brick, I say ugly words to the TV. I never considered the cost to repaint; only offended someone would cover the beautiful brick.
I've not only fallen by the wayside (walking), but have stumbled into a ditch -- and no-one's looking! (LOL)
I hope your friend heals that hip quickly. Since I've been back working I've seen a few of those surgeries! I hate when they paint the brick but you can still see the brick through the paint. It just looks more shabby than chic to me!
Oh your poor friend! I hope her hip heals quickly! I do exercise 5 days a week on the treadmill. I keep doing it because I'm afraid if I stop for a few days I'll never get back on it again :)
betty
Praying for your friend; that she heals totally and soon restored to good health.
Brick buildings are beautiful. It's a shame to cover them with paint.
God bless.
I will definitely be praying for your friend. Chances that someone would do that twice is very slim. Sorry this had to happen to her. I worked most of my life too until I reached retirement age. Most of the jobs were ones I liked. Then I got married and had the best job ever, housekeeper and a mom. I did have to go back to work and am thankful for the jobs I had. I had a large family to take care of.
