Rainy days and ……

  Car of the day:

So for today:

AS we sat in the RV watching it rain here in Florida my Girl asked, “Who sang ‘Rainy Days and Mondays’”

She answered that herself, it was the Carpenters. I would not have known. Her memory is sharper than a tack.

Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothin' ever seems to fit
Hangin' around
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothin' is really wrong
Feelin' like I don't belong
Walkin' around
Some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny, but it seems I always wind up here with you
Nice to know somebody loves me
Funny, but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me (the one who loves me)

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out (talk it out)
We know what it's all about

Hangin' around (hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny, but it seems that it's the only thing to do (only thing to do)
Run and find the one who loves me (ooh)

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out (to talk it out)
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around (hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
Hangin' around (hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get
Me down

Some of you may remember that song. To be factual, Most of my life I looked forward to Mondays and rain only bothered me if it stopped construction on a house I was building. ;)

But now a days?  The song seems to fit.

I hope you enjoyed the song.

We always appreciate you taking the time to stop by for a visit. Take care and come back soon.

Thank you so much for this song, Jack and Sherry. You've brought back fond memories. I used to play this song on my radio show. I liked the Carpenters.

God bless always.

One of my favorite Carpenters' tunes! One of my favorite memories was seeing them in concert. Still, Karen's premature death was heartbreaking ... what a voice!

Thank you for fleshing out the lyrics (I sometimes forget).

Right now we are enjoying sunny weather and warmer days, but we had a very wet summer and fall until now. We don't need rain, we needed som sunshine. Hope your rainey day is a good one, and you chase those blues away!
