The initial grilling

Then there was today:
Surprise, Son Mark and his faithful companion Janie, the Bull dog stopped by for a day and night on his way to NC to see his new Grandson Maverick. He also needed to install shocks on his truck so he did it here. I actually helped get it up off the ground a little so he could work under it and got some tools. He did all the work, I didn’t even get under the truck except to look. LOL

Since we have a grill Sherry and I had planned to cook us a steak on the grill. WE were actually in the grocery store when he called and said he was at our house. So we threw another steak in the basket and came home.

Since I was doing the grilling, I prepared the Potatoes (I started them in the Micro wave for about 8 minutes then wrapped them in foil for the grill. At the same time I did some veggies (green peppers, carrots, celery and onions.  I am a fan of Ms Dash since the only herbs and spices I know are ‘salt and pepper’.

For the fun of it I sliced a potato long ways and nuked it 4 minutes and put the slices on the grill.  Sherry made a big salad for each of us and we had a great meal.

Now, I have wondered if I could grill a steak and later pressure cook it. MY thoughts are, will that make a tough(er) steak good and tender. Have you ever tried it?  So today I cooked an extra top sirloin steak.  I plan to put it in the pressure cooker for about 12-15 minutes this Saturday and give my theory a test.
Okay, to end with a fact of our wonderfully created bodies:

  Feet have 500,000 sweat glands and can produce more than a pint of sweat a day.

(When I read that I understood why mama said, "Jackie, you leave the tennis shoes outside." Some folk called them sneakers, we always called them tennis shoes, and never played tennis!)

I still call them Tennis shoes too and that is all I wear since I need support under my legs. So I can't wear dresses anymore and I sure miss dressing up. Those steaks look good. I have to broil them as John wouldn't grill anything or if he did he would start it and then it would be up to me. So many spices I had never tried until in my older years. Yesterday I baked chicken pieces with a sauce made of mustard, honey, margarine, salt, and curry powder. We liked it and it smells so good while cooking.

Mighty fine dinner you had!! Let us know how it goes when you throw the steak into the pressure cooker. I'm debating about getting one, but have't firmly committed either way. Hubby and son are great with figuring out spices and what goes well with what. I just tend to follow a recipe especially when it is combining different spices.

From the looks and sounds of things you did a fine job of fixing up that grill. I love the color. Red is a favorite of mine. I can only imagine you have every tool needed for your son to get the job done. A steak on the grill sounds wonderful, but in a pressure cooker, not so sure. It'll be interesting to see how it comes out. Rather like a roast I'm thinking... I saw frost on the neighbors car top this morning but we are to warm up in the upper 70's for the weekend. Almost as good as Florida but not quite!

Meal sounded delicious.
Let us know if the pressure cooker softens the meat - it sound, but wonder if it will go the other way?

Now that meal looks great. I have never used a pressure cooker so I could not give any suggestions to your theory but I'm interested to know how it turns out. We do our potatoes the same way except before we put them on the grill, I will roll them in olive oil and salt. Makes a delicious potato skin.

What a wonderful surprise guest! The inaugural BBQ looks wonderful; and, I'll bet it tasted better!

Love grilled meals and yours is a favorite around here. However,....the one and only time I used a pressure cooker, I was 20 and didn't know a thing, ended up with a nice sized hole in the ceiling of the rental....I guess the new-fangled ones are safer. Good luck tenderizing the steak.
With Bill's diabetes, Ms. Dash spices is a go-to around here and the choices are many.
Nice Grandpa Mark stopped in and had a nice meal with the Great Grands before meeting Maverick. I love that name.
