Our family story…
A couple years ago I did a series of blogs entries about our lives, Sherry and I. They have been turned into a paperback book. I started to call it “Sherry ‘n Me. ” but somewhere in the vast depths of this computer there is a book about my dog and myself called, “Ace ‘n Me”. So this book is simply “Jack and Sherry”.
I figure it will sell a total of 12 copies (to me) for me to give to the family. I have no problem with that. I wanted to record some of the data for the family if they ever develop a curiosity about our lives. That has been ‘me’ in the last few years regarding mama and daddy, and their lives before I knew them. I crave to know, but it is too late everyone who knew them in that time frame is gone.
This picture found among his mama's stuff by my cousin in LVegas:
I know it is daddy when he was a farmer in Georgia, That is Uncle Oscar with him. They are whittling. Were they waiting for a baby to be born? Or just 'chewing the fat', as the old folks said..
Our lives do not come close to the excitement of our fore parents families' lives. I am still stunned to think of someone living through the ‘Great Depression’ and existing without individual government assistance. It blows my mind, but they did it.
So now it is finished. What I thought would be 100 pages is close to 400. I dropped Europe and the UK for distribution to keep the price of the book down. I figure no one in the rest of the world will care about our lives. This is mostly just a family thing. The price is still around $10. I was hoping for a smaller book and much cheaper. Hahahaha. My cost will be better of course but not a lot after shipping. This book effects mostly our family. It reads sort of like a novel, but still boring I am sure unless it is your family.
