Memorable Automobiles from The Past:
Do we still have 'Hell Driver' shows? The last one I saw was "Joey Chitwood's Hollywood Hell Drivers" 1954 Gaston Co. Fair.
Now for today..
Not to belabor my age and life, but I am Blessed to till be here.
I was notified this week that a childhood friend, VonDale just lost his older sister. That leaves him the last of his family.
Every one of us, you and me, are blessed, lucky, and fortunate; according to how you look at it. We drive on these highways. As you drive at 50-70 miles an hour you are meeting other cars doing the same or higher speeds. Any small mistake at those speeds by us (or the other driver), over the years could have taken us out of this life. But here we are, typing and reading entertaining or boring entries on the internet. Why us?
There was a lady on WBTV in Charlotte, NC. Betty Feezor. ‘The Betty Feezor Show’ ran on WBTV from 1953-1977. Her show was the first in the world to be video-recorded in color. She was hit with deadly cancer. We remember seeing an interview with this stalwart lady.
The interviewer: “Betty you have been so giving in your life. You have also been very open with this disease. You tell us the Doctor says you are terminal and do not have long to live. Do you ever ask, WHY ME?”
Betty looked at her with that sweet smile, “Why not me? This comes to the rich, poor or well known, it comes to Joe and Sue Citizen. I am not thrilled with the sentence, but we are all on the same plain when it comes to this, it is appointed to man to die.”
I want to appreciate all I have been allowed in this world. I have seen so many of my peers cut down in their youth, never to see a child or grandchild. Here I have enjoyed even Great Grands. How sweet is that? Yep, I am Blessed. So I want to be thankful. Christmas is a good time for that. This is the latest Great Grand Oliver and his dad Josh. Meg and Rosie making ginger bread dudes. We even have another ggrand comng. Kiersten is expecting another in January. That will make 12.
It is easy to note that some of you preach 'THANKFUL' with your lives and blogs.
Tonight I want to thank all of you for making my life better. Y’all are a lot of fun. ;-)
