Mysteries in life

 Memorable Automobiles from The Past:

Do we still have 'Hell Driver' shows? The last one I saw was "Joey Chitwood's Hollywood Hell Drivers" 1954 Gaston Co. Fair.

Now for today..

Not to belabor my age and life, but I am Blessed to till be here.

I was notified this week that a childhood friend, VonDale just lost his older sister. That leaves him the last of his family.

Every one of us, you and me, are blessed, lucky, and fortunate; according to how you look at it. We drive on these highways. As you drive at 50-70 miles an hour you are meeting other cars doing the same or higher speeds.  Any small mistake at those speeds by us (or the other driver), over the years could have taken us out of this life. But here we are, typing and reading entertaining or boring entries on the internet.  Why us?

There was a lady on WBTV in Charlotte, NC. Betty Feezor. The Betty Feezor Show’ ran on WBTV from 1953-1977. Her show was the first in the world to be video-recorded in color.  She was hit with deadly cancer.  We remember seeing an interview with this stalwart lady.

The interviewer: “Betty you have been so giving in your life. You have also been very open with this disease. You tell us the Doctor says you are terminal and do not have long to live. Do you ever ask, WHY ME?”

Betty looked at her with that sweet smile, “Why not me? This comes to the rich, poor or well known, it comes to Joe and Sue Citizen. I am not thrilled with the sentence, but we are all on the same plain when it comes to this, it is appointed to man to die.”

I want to appreciate all I have been allowed in this world. I have seen so many of my peers cut down in their youth, never to see a child or grandchild. Here I have enjoyed even Great Grands. How sweet is that? Yep, I am Blessed. So I want to be thankful. Christmas is a good time for that.

This is the latest Great Grand Oliver and his dad Josh. Meg and Rosie making ginger bread dudes. We even have another ggrand comng. Kiersten is expecting another in January. That will make 12.

It is easy to note that some of you preach 'THANKFUL' with your lives and blogs.

Tonight I want to thank all of you for making my life better. Y’all are a lot of fun. ;-)

This entry was a wonderful start to my Monday! Yes, my body doesn't work like it used to, and there are more aches and pains frequently. Sharp, shooting pains from my left kneecap are intermittent and give me grief. Juanelle said is "sounds like you need knee replacement surgery". Oh Boy. I tripped on a tree root Friday while talking on the phone with my brother and followed up accidentally tripping on the tie strings that held a cushion on a wrought iron bench ~ I'd been pressure washing a big rug and wanted to clean that cushion as well. Nurse "Nell" said to take Ibuprofen and Tylenol together, that's helping my old back. So, I'm thankful for the advice and happy you have such beautiful Grands and Greats! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and pics, Lotsa Love from Chobee, Glenda

How exciting with another great grand coming in January! Truly a blessing for any of us to get to the age that we are at, no matter how "old" we might be with the numbers of our age. This past weekend there were lots of accidents with injuries on streets close to us and streets we routinely drive. We consider it a blessing every day we get home safely from being out and about. Thank God for good health and longevity!

Thanks Jack! You make my days brighter too. Yes, I have often asked why. I lot a grandchild and a son way before their times. I wonder why it wasn't me instead. I'm older and enjoying 70 plus years. The old ones should die first. But I figure as long as we are here, we still have a jo to do. I keep going and trying to do the best I can and hope it works.

As ever, you've given me sweet thoughts on which to chew. Most everyone's so preoccupied with fear of the pandemic, we don't stop to think we could be wiped out simply crossing the street. God don't play favorites, that's for sure.
Congratulations on your new 'great' grand! I can't wait.

Thanks for another great post which has made me feel very thankful for what I have in this life. It is great to hear of your grandchildren and great grandchildren. I have several friends who this week have lost loved ones far too early, and it makes me be very thankful for my friends and family and to make the most of every day. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas.

Your Great Grandloves are so precious. We have a dozen Grandloves we are very grateful for, as well as our extended ' pretty good ' health. We are grateful to still be blessed with advise from Mama at her tender age of 91. We decorated her Christmas tree for her as she remembered where every ornament came from. If only my memory is as sharp at her age. We've had another very blessed year, praise God above. Stay healthy, wise and warm with memories of many more Christmases together.
loven'hugs from up north where we finally getting our Christmas snow that's still coming down...another God Wink. Merry Christmas Jack n' Sherry.

Once again, THANK YOU, Jack. You are truly a great blessing.

I'll be honest, I read a bunch of blogs, but yours is the ONE I honestly would not skim past or miss for anything. You are so encouraging and consistent. You inspire me. Thank you!

Merry Christmas to you and Sherry.
