The world is
sorta upside down. There are times we do not know what we have until it is
gone. WE had friends that married. Unlike our
marriage, theirs was filled with, love, anger, resentment etc, but they stayed
married nearly 50 years and she passed way. His own words to me, “I didn’t think I would miss her, but I do.” The same
happened with our SIL, she missed her hubby, AFTER HE WAS GONE!
History
proves that many people found fame, appreciation and love AFTER THEY DIED!
(Not Monet's best (my opinion) but I like it 'The Luncheon.')
Some famous after death: Vincent van Gogh, Emily Dickinson, Gauguin, Melville, El Greco, Claude Monet,
etc.
Below is 'Starry Night', van Gogh's best 'they say' But I like his self portrait better.
How
wonderful it would have been for them had they caught the eye of the world
before they died so they could have enjoyed the fruits of their
accomplishments.
BUT THEN who
knows, fame actually ruins some; while trying to fit in they take to alcohol,
drugs BUT some find relief (?) in suicide (Think Robin Williams, L ).
Famous
people have cameras pointed at them or their homes 24/7. So there are pictures
with EVERY EXPRESSION from crazy, sad, silly to serious. Have you ever took
note of pictures accompanying a story of someone famous? They search the files
to find just the right shot that describes the heart (or mood) of the story. (Happy,
sad, snide, etc)
(example) “Democratic
Senator xxx made his long awaited statement today!” If the accompanying shot is
goofy, then a Republican wrote the article. If it looks studious, then a
Democrat did the writing. (That will be reversed according to the parties)
WE can read that into most articles (all stripes
and colors), if the writer likes his subject, the picture will FIT greatness.
The same goes for a Hollywood celebrity, if they
are in good standing, great picture. If
they just did something stupid, it will be a terrible shot; in searching the
files you can bet they have many to choose from.
But the term
‘Starving Artist’ truly fits many good sculpts and artists. Their talent is
discovered ‘After they are gone.’
----------------- --------------
I will end with this, you NEVER
hear the term, Starving Politician, methinks.

PS: My favorite quote is from a leading politician, she gets picked on a lot, "We must pass this bill to find what is in it!"

They say the camera never lies. The camera on my cell-phone does lie. Whenever the phone rings I click the wrong button and take a photo of my ear.
God bless.
Whoo boy, you've got me there. Yep, I've cried bitter tears (as my dad once predicted). You don't know what you had 'til it's gone. Even the pandemic showed us what 'ordinary' blessings we took for granted.
As far as politicians? I've almost quit being surprised at anything coming out of their mouths. Thank the media for showing us the rich and powerful are sometimes just as stupid as the ordinary Joe.
I used to think “Starving Artist” shows were homeless and hungry people that had a day to sell their art to make money.

Don't think I would want to be a politician or a famous person. Too many people always looking into your business plus you have to watch everything you say or do for fear of being misquoted or have an awkward photo of you taken and then published. I think Jesus became a bit more famous and known after he died (and of course was raised from the dead :)

How I agree with never hearing ' Starving Politician ' and I might add, rarely do we hear ' Honest Politician.' Why don't you run for President? You're about as honest and genuine we know ~
loven'hugs from our 'way north' where, yep, it's snowing again and we take it as it comes.
There are truly many things we don't appreciate until we don't have them any longer. Too bad we can't all appreciate what we have while we have it. I rey ro BE grateful for what I have every day. It's the better way, I think.
